Sindh Distributes 10,000 Free Electric Motorcycles to Women Industrial Workers
The Workers Welfare Board Sindh (WWBS) has launched a program to provide 10,000 free electric motorcycles to female industrial workers, calling it a landmark for empowerment, equity, and sustainability.
Targeting women 20–45 years in registered industries under EOBI/SESSI, with a 20% minority quota, beneficiaries will be selected via digital balloting and must retain the motorcycles for 7 years. A 60-day grace period is given to obtain driving licenses.
The scheme reduces costs, improves safety, and cuts emissions. Labour Minister Shahid Abdul Salam Thahim credited Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, calling it “a hallmark of inclusive, accountable governance.”
How to Apply: Eligible women can register through the official WWBS portal. Applications will be verified through CNIC, EOBI/SESSI, and employer certification.
