Dr. Pervez Khan Leads Media Literacy Session, Reviews Student Productions at KUST
Chairperson, Department of Media & Communication Studies, Kohat University of Science and Technology (KUST), Dr. Pervez Khan, conducted an interactive media literacy session for students of the department and reviewed ongoing and upcoming student productions at the department’s Radio and TV Studios.
During the session, Dr. Pervez Khan discussed media literacy, the rapidly evolving media landscape, responsible media consumption, and the importance of critical thinking among media students. He also shared practical insights into contemporary journalism and mass communication.
Following the session, Dr. Pervez Khan visited the department’s Radio Studio and TV Studio, where he reviewed the facilities and ongoing production activities. He briefed students and faculty members about upcoming radio and television productions and emphasized practical learning, creativity, innovation, and professional skills development.
Dr. Pervez Khan recently completed his PhD under the prestigious Fulbright Program. He has also served with national mainstream media organizations and international media outlets, bringing valuable academic and professional perspectives to the department.
Vice Chancellor KUST Prof. Dr. Syed Zafar Ilyas (Sitara-i-Imtiaz) congratulated Dr. Pervez Khan on successfully completing his PhD under the Fulbright Program and appreciated his contribution to the academic development of the Department of Media & Communication Studies.
The interaction provided students with an opportunity to engage with contemporary media practices and gain a deeper understanding of professional production standards. The department continues to focus on combining classroom learning with hands-on experience through its radio and television production facilities.
