Slow Travel with Lisa seeks a Trip Assistant to the Trip Leader and Social Media Content Creator to create and post content and archive photos and media for future use.
Dates of the assignment are Oct 8-18, 2026. Trip Assistant will travel with a small group of 10 guests.
Slow Travel with Lisa is a small business founded by Lisa Engelken, Italian teacher and interpreter, inspired by the Slow Food Movement and specializes in creating authentic adventures in Italy.
Lisa's trips take guests to unique destinations and introduces them to her Italian friends and a more authentic (and fun) Italy.
This position requires a person who is comfortable following directions, leading and seeks to create a pleasant and relaxing travel experience for all involved.
A second and equally important aspect of the position is to take photos, record videos and interview guests for content on Slow Travel with Lisa's social media sites.
The "Social Media Content Creator" must be comfortable in the realm of social media (posting, working with various apps, creating engaging reels and videos, a quick editor and writer of copy to accompany the images.
Ideally, the Trip Assistant will be able to speak Italian.
The ideal Assistant and Content Creator is a person who is
- cheerful, poised, pleasant, confident and relaxed
- able to cope and work well even in sometimes stressful situations that may occur when traveling
- a person who knows how to work and will work a full day or until daily projects (posts and archiving) are completed
- keenly interested in, and familiar with the Italian language and culture
- proactive, able to recognize when and how to pitch in and assist the Trip Leader- a person who doesn't need to be prompted to help
- prompt arriving 5 mins before call time (of utmost importance)
- a quick study and creative thinker, able to solve challenges and emergency situations if they arise;
- an excellent observer of, and communicator with guests;
- comfortable communicating with Trip Leader any perceived delicate situations and dynamics, discontents, illness, etc.
- a person able to keep Trip Leader (and guests) on track and on schedule
- comfortable accompanying a group of guests as a leader, when needed
- can follow detailed directions and listens well
- a person who asks questions before acting, when there is any doubt about procedure or schedule
-discreet and maintains the privacy of the backstage operations of the tour, allowing guests to enjoy a relaxed and delightful itinerary
- a person who feels comfortable driving a stick shift and can do so expertly and safely.
This will require an international DL that costs approximately $25 at AAA.
