`✍️I was reading VS I had been reading

"I was reading"

"I had been reading"
- This phrase is in the past perfect continuous tense
- It is used to indicate that an action was ongoing in the past before another action took place. It emphasizes the duration or continuity of the reading up to a certain point in time.
- The focus is often on the fact that you had been engaged in the reading for some time before another event occurred.
