What is zoology and what is its scope?
by Rayyaan zoologist.
What we study in zoology?

Its studies include the structure, embryology,
classification, habits, and distribution of all animals, both living and extinct, and how they interact with their ecosystems.
A question arise, what's the scope of zoology?
Here we go..
Zoologists may work in a variety of settings, including universities, research institutes, museums, zoos, aquariums, and government agencies.

The scope of zoology also extends to interdisciplinary fields, such as environmental science, genetics, and neuroscience.
Briefly...
Zoology is the branch of biology concerned with the study animals and animal kingdom. It is also known as animal biology. The study of zoology includes the interaction of animal kingdom in their ecosystems such as classification, habits, structure, embryology, distribution, evolution, and extinct species.

In wildlife:
Working in zoology is an appealing career option for those with an interest in animals and wildlife.

To find a job in this scientific field, you must meet certain educational requirements. Certain jobs in zoology require at least a bachelor's degree, while others require advanced degrees.

Red blood cells (RBCs) have a lifespan of approximately 120 days due to several factors.

Firstly, RBCs lack a nucleus and other organelles, which allows them to carry oxygen more efficiently. However, this also means that they cannot repair themselves or synthesize new proteins. Over time, the RBCs become worn out and less functional.

Secondly, RBCs constantly circulate through the narrow capillaries in our body, which can cause them to undergo mechanical stress and damage.

This damage accumulates over time, leading to the eventual breakdown of the RBCs.

Lastly, the spleen plays a crucial role in removing old or damaged RBCs from circulation. As RBCs age, they become more rigid and less flexible, making it difficult for them to pass through the narrow spaces in the spleen. The spleen recognizes these old RBCs and removes them from circulation, allowing new RBCs to take their place.

Overall, the lifespan of RBCs is approximately 120 days due to the combination of their lack of repair mechanisms, mechanical stress, and the spleen's role in removing old cells.
