A Glimpse into “Freedom Within Limits” Bringing Montessori Wisdom Home

Dear Parents,

I am delighted to invite you to our upcoming workshop on Thursday, 20th November, at Seeds of Knowledge Montessori School in Etoy, where we’ll explore one of the most beautiful and transformative Montessori principles *Freedom Within Limits.*

In a Montessori environment, freedom does not mean doing anything one wants. Rather, it is the thoughtful balance between independence and guidance, a space where children learn to make meaningful choices within clear, respectful boundaries. This gentle structure nurtures confidence, focus, self-discipline, and, above all, a deep sense of security.

When children feel both free and safe, they begin to understand and regulate their emotions more naturally. Tantrums and emotional outbursts decrease as they learn to express their needs within an environment that honors their feelings while offering loving consistency.

During our time together, we’ll reflect on how to bring this same balance into our homes, creating family spaces where freedom inspires confidence, and limits encourage emotional growth and peace.

The PEACE Summit virtual conference will be held from today 26-Feb 2nd with a Live Webinar Sunday, January 26th to kick off our week together and a Live Panel discussion on February 2nd with our whole team of presenters. We hope you can join us!

As Montessori practitioners, we are grounded in the liberation of the child from the oppressive systems that constrain their ability to develop as they are trying to do. The PEACE Summit is a community-focused virtual conference for parents & educators. Our international team of Montessori-trained educators provide workshops on important topics for discussion within the Montessori community. The PEACE Summit:
* Gives Montessorians an opportunity to present and deliver workshops with coaching and support to be better presenters and bring these skills to their communities

* Keeps The PEACE Program's programs accessible! 85% of families in our parent education programs and 43% of teachers in our mentorship programs are able to access lower access fees because of our conference ticket sales.

* Engages the Montessori community in discussions on important topics in a real-time, community forum format

About the 2025 PEACE Summit

This year, the PEACE Summit will start on January 26, 2025 with a week of pre-recorded workshops to watch at your own pace. Learn more about the workshops lineup here: 2025 PEACE Summit Workshops. The Summit week will culminate in a 2-hour live panel on Feb. 2nd with our whole team to answer questions and be in discussion and community with each of you.

Our hope is that by adding a « Preview Panel, » we can begin the conversation, begin to create community with participants, and therefore have a strong community-focused conference experience that allows us to do this work in a deeper way.
