Investing in Educators, Empowering Learning
Higher Secondary teachers from Aga Khan Higher Secondary School Karachi, Aga Khan Higher Secondary School Kharadar, and Aga Khan Higher Secondary School Hyderabad came together for the Summer Professional Development Sessions 2026, hosted at Aga Khan Higher Secondary School, Karachi.
Through engaging sessions on reflective teaching, lesson planning, assessment design, conflict resolution, web tools, and Artificial Intelligence in education, participants explored practical strategies to strengthen classroom practice and enhance student learning.
The programme provided a valuable platform for educators to collaborate, exchange ideas, develop new skills, and deepen their understanding of contemporary teaching approaches.

As we celebrate 100 Years of Aga Khan Higher Secondary School, Kharadar (1926โ2026), we proudly share the stories of alumni whose journeys reflect the enduring impact of education, values, and opportunity.
Today, we feature Muhammad Faisal, a proud alumnus of the Class of 1990 and the current Chief Executive Officer of Lucky Motor Corporation (LMC), Pakistan.
Muhammad Faisal studied at Aga Khan School, Kharadar from Grade 1 to Grade 10, where he distinguished himself as a disciplined, hardworking, and academically outstanding student. His school journey culminated in a historic achievement when he secured First Position among Boys and Second Position Overall in the Karachi Board in 1990, becoming the first student in the school's history to earn a board position.
Reflecting on his school years, Faisal fondly remembers the teachers who nurtured his potential, including Ms. Yasmin Jaleel, Sir Aziz Soorani, Sir Ahsan, Ms. Yasmin Bano, Ms. Fehmida, Ms. Rehana, and Ms. Saleha. Their encouragement and belief in him helped build the confidence and determination that would guide his future.
A defining moment came in Grade 9 when he secured a Karachi Board position. Encouraged by then Principal Sir Haider Ali to continue striving for excellence, Faisal went on to achieve an even greater milestone in Grade 10, bringing immense pride to his school and family.
After completing his education, he qualified as a Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP) and built an accomplished professional career spanning more than three decades. Today, he serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Lucky Motor Corporation, one of Pakistan's leading automotive companies.

For nearly four decades, ๐ ๐. ๐ก๐ฎ๐ท๐บ๐ฎ has been a pillar of commitment, care, and educational excellence at ๐๐ด๐ฎ ๐๐ต๐ฎ๐ป ๐ฆ๐ฐ๐ต๐ผ๐ผ๐น, ๐ฆ๐๐น๐๐ฎ๐ป๐ฎ๐ฏ๐ฎ๐ฑ.
Her journey began in ๐ญ๐ต๐ด๐ณ as an Early Childhood Development (ECD) teacher. Recognized early for her leadership potential, she went on to serve as ๐๐๐ ๐๐ป-๐๐ต๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ด๐ฒ and later as ๐๐ฒ๐ฝ๐๐๐ ๐๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ฑ, contributing significantly to the growth and development of the school community.
Throughout her career, Ms. Najma has been recognized for her outstanding service, receiving ๐ฆ๐ฒ๐ฟ๐๐ถ๐ฐ๐ฒ ๐๐๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฑ๐ and being selected multiple times for the ๐ฃ๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ณ๐ผ๐ฟ๐บ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฐ๐ฒ ๐๐ผ๐ป๐๐ ๐ณ๐ผ๐ฟ ๐๐

AKES,P South Region proudly hosted a Generative AI for Professionals training session as part of its ongoing Digital Literacy Programme.
The session was facilitated by Ms. Ashraf Surani, Corporate Educator and Strategist, and Mr. Nooruddin Surani, Techno-Functional Expert and COO of Awesome Technologies, who brought extensive experience in helping professionals harness technology for greater impact and productivity.
Participants explored practical workplace applications of Generative AI through hands-on engagement with tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Google AI Studio, and NotebookLM. The training focused on enhancing writing, analysis, communication, and productivity through effective AI integration.
The session equipped participants with practical skills and strategies to leverage AI in their daily work, supporting greater efficiency, innovation, and professional growth.

Celebrating 36 Years of Educational Excellence
For 36 years, Ms. Asma Arshad has been shaping minds, nurturing talent, and contributing to educational excellence through her dedication, creativity, and leadership.
Beginning her career in 1990 as a Senior Teacher, Ms. Asma has built a remarkable legacy in education. Her passion for arts and aesthetics brought learning to life through innovative initiatives, including a Shahjahan-era dramatization at the Lahore Fort and a vibrant Drama Festival that provided students with opportunities to develop confidence, creativity, and expression.
Her leadership journey continued through various roles, including Acting Vice Principal and, most recently, Senior Academic Coordinator. Through mentoring teachers, strengthening classroom practices, and supporting academic excellence, she has played an important role in improving student outcomes and guiding learners toward outstanding AKUEB results and distinctions.
For more than a decade, Ms. Asma has served as a centralized paper developer for Urdu and Islamiat within AKES,P. She has also contributed as an AKUEB syllabus reviewer for the new Urdu curriculum, a pacing guide developer for Grades VIโX, principal e-marker, and quality assurance reviewer, supporting curriculum and assessment development at both system and national levels.
A passionate advocate for Urdu language and literature, she has organized numerous literary events and prepared students for declamations, speech contests, Qirโat, and Naat competitions. Under her guidance, students have consistently excelled and brought recognition to their school.
Ms. Asmaโs journey reflects a lifelong commitment to learning, service, and educational excellence. Through her dedication to both Urdu and Islamiat education, she continues to inspire students, support teachers, and strengthen the AKESP community.
