In a hadith, Prophet Muhammad s.a.w. said,

النِّكَاحُ مِنْ سُنَّتِي فَمَنْ لَمْ يَعْمَلْ بِسُنَّتِي فَلَيْسَ مِنِّي وَتَزَوَّجُوا فَإِنِّي مُكَاثِرٌ بِكُمُ الأُمَمَ

“Marriage is part of my sunnah, and whoever does not follow my sunnah has nothing to do with me. Get married, for I am heartened by your great numbers before the nations (of other Prophets).”

**The Role of a Husband in Islam**

Allah has made the man a **Qawwaam**—a protector and maintainer—of the woman, meaning he is responsible for her care, guidance, and financial support, just as a guardian looks after those under his protection.

*"Men are the protectors and maintainers of women, because Allah has made one of them to excel the other, and because they spend (to support them) from their means."* [al-Nisa 4:34]

Just as a husband has rights, Islam commands him to treat his wife with kindness and fairness.

*"And they (women) have rights (over their husbands as regards living expenses) similar (to those of their husbands) over them (as regards obedience and respect) to what is reasonable."* [Al-Baqarah 2:228]

The Prophet ﷺ said: *“The best of you is the one who is best to his wife.”*

A righteous husband leads with love, wisdom, and gentleness, fulfilling his duty as a **Qawwaam** in the way Allah has commanded.

Meaning of Allahumma Barik

Allahumma barik lahu: Used when addressing a male, meaning "may Allah bless him"
Allahumma barik laha: Used when addressing a female, meaning "may Allah bless her"
Barakallahu laka fiha: Used when addressing an object, such as a car or house, meaning "may Allah bless it"
Allahumma barik lana fima razaqtana waqina azaban-nar: Means "O Allah! Bless us in what You have provided us with and protect us from the punishment of the Fire"
"Allahumma barik lahum wa barik alaihim" is used to congratulate a newlywed couple
