A Proud Achievement for the Department of Textile Engineering

The Lok Sahaita STEM Talent Search Program has selected outstanding Final Year Projects from universities across Pakistan through a highly competitive selection and filtration process. The shortlisted projects were further supported through mentorship by industry experts, providing students with valuable guidance to strengthen their projects and prepare for the Grand Finale.

The Department of Textile Engineering is proud to share that three of our projects have successfully reached the Grand Finale, competing today alongside the selected projects from across Pakistan:

1- *Indigenous Development of High-Performance Textile-Based Composite Structural Reinforcement System for Civil Infrastructure*
Supervisor: *Prof. Dr. Bilal Zahid*
Co-Supervisor: *Engr. Shehroze Ali Baig*

2- *Investigating the Impact of Conductive Yarn and Knit Structure on the Hysteresis and Dimensional Stability of Soft Actuator*
Supervisor: *Prof. Dr. Dawood Hussain*

3- *Development of a Woven Fabric Pressure Sensor for Integration into Composite Panels*
Supervisor: *Engr. Shehroze Ali Baig*
Co-Supervisor: *Prof. Dr. Bilal Zahid*

Having three projects representing the Department at the national-level Grand Finale is a significant achievement and reflects the dedication of our students, supervisors, and faculty towards innovation and applied research.

We extend our appreciation to Lok Sahaita for providing this valuable platform and for connecting promising student projects with industry expertise and mentorship.

Wishing all three teams the very best for the Grand Finale. We are proud to see Textile Engineering represented at this level!

The Department of Textile Engineering was pleased to host the Annual Dinner of Batch 2022.

The evening brought together students, faculty, and alumni in a warm and memorable gathering. We sincerely thank our faculty for their continued mentorship and our students and alumni for making the occasion truly special.

Celebrating 79 Years of Independence of Pakistan 🇵🇰

The Department of Textile Engineering celebrated the 79th Independence Day of Pakistan with great enthusiasm and patriotic spirit.
Faculty members came together to commemorate this special occasion, followed by a cake-cutting ceremony honoured by the Dean, Faculty of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering, Prof. Dr. Syed Amir Iqbal, to celebrate the freedom and unity of our beloved country.
May Pakistan continue to progress, prosper, and shine.

🏆 Ranking & Impact | BE Textile Achieves 5-Year Full Accreditation

NED University of Engineering and Technology proudly announces a significant academic milestone as the BE Textile Engineering program has been awarded 5 Years Full Accreditation by the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) under Level II (Outcome Based Education - Washington Accord).

This achievement reflects the program’s commitment to maintaining the highest standards of engineering education, academic quality, and global competitiveness.

The accreditation recognizes excellence in curriculum design, learning outcomes, industry relevance, and adherence to internationally benchmarked engineering education standards.

Alhamdulillah! All praises to Almighty Allah for this historic achievement as the Department of Textile Engineering has successfully secured Five Years Accreditation for its programme — a milestone achieved for the first time in the department’s history.

This remarkable success reflects the department’s commitment to academic excellence, quality education, research, and professional standards, made possible through the collective efforts of faculty, staff, students, alumni, and administration under the visionary leadership of Prof. Dr-Bilal Zahid

Ma-Sha-Allah! Another proud aspect of this achievement is that even the upcoming 2026–27 batch will already be enrolled in an accredited programme, ensuring greater recognition and opportunities for future students. Heartiest congratulations to the entire Textile Engineering family on this proud moment.

Students from the Department of Textile Engineering actively participated in Namal Tech 2026, a competition primarily focused on electronics and emerging technologies. Demonstrating the interdisciplinary potential of modern engineering, the team showcased innovative smart textile systems integrating sensing, conductive structures, and functional materials.

The exhibited work highlighted the convergence of textile engineering with electronics, emphasizing applications in wearable technology and intelligent materials. This research was carried out under the joint supervision of Prof.Dr-Bilal Zahid and Engr. Shehroze Ali Baig, reflecting a strong commitment to multidisciplinary innovation and applied research.

Alhamdulillah, Textile Sports Fest has officially come to an end — but not before giving us five unforgettable days filled with pure entertainment, healthy competition, laughter, togetherness, and mutual respect.

These past five days were more than just sports; they were about building bonds, creating memories, strengthening teamwork, and celebrating the true spirit of our Textile family. From thrilling matches to cheerful sidelines, from tireless volunteers to passionate players — every moment reflected dedication, unity, and sportsmanship.

Students from all years came together with incredible enthusiasm, faculty stood by in constant support, and the organizing teams worked relentlessly behind the scenes to make everything run smoothly. Each game taught us resilience, discipline, and collaboration, reminding us that winning is important — but participation, effort, and respect matter even more.

And at the end of it all, with pride and gratitude, the Department of Textile Engineering emerged victorious. 🏆
But truly, the real win belongs to everyone who participated, supported, organized, and contributed to making this Sports Fest a grand success.
