SPE DUET Student Chapter

The seminar on “Process Safety Management, Human Factors, and Best International Practices, including Lessons Relevant for Pakistan” was conducted under the PMC of Dawood University of Engineering & Technology at the Multi-Purpose Hall. The session featured Engr. Ziauddin, an experienced professional in Process Safety Management, OSHA/API/CCPS guidelines, project engineering, and HSE systems implementation. The seminar aimed to enhance awareness and practical understanding of process safety concepts, human factors, and globally recognized best practices, with special focus on their application within the Pakistani industrial context. Organized in collaboration with Consult & Train (Pvt.) Ltd., the event provided a valuable platform for knowledge sharing, professional learning, and industry–academia engagement.

The Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) DUET Student Chapter successfully organized a field visit on 20 December 2025 for final-year students to United Energy Pakistan Limited (UEPL), Naimat Field.

This visit provided students with valuable practical exposure to real-time field operations, bridging the gap between classroom learning and industry practice. Experiences like these play a key role in enhancing students’ technical understanding and professional readiness.

The Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) DUET Student Chapter successfully arranged an industrial field visit for 2nd-year and 3rd-year students to OGDCL’s KPD/TAY Oil & Gas Field on 9 December 2025.

Manahil Fatima was chosen as the "sole representative from Pakistan" for the International Petroleum Technology Conference (IPTC) Student Education Program in "Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia".

Greetings from SPE DUET SC! We are thrilled to share that the team of SPE DUET SC recently had the incredible opportunity to attend the ATC (Annual Technical Conference) held in Islamabad. The conference proved to be an exceptionally enriching experience for our students, offering them a unique platform to engage with industry experts and professionals. It was an incredible opportunity for our team members to network, gain valuable insights, and broaden their knowledge of the industry, all while interacting with seasoned leaders and innovators in the field.

Through engaging discussions, presentations, and technical sessions, our team was able to deepen their understanding of emerging trends and challenges within the industry. The event not only enhanced our technical knowledge but also inspired us to push boundaries in our pursuit of excellence. This experience has further solidified our commitment to growing and contributing to the industry, and we are excited to apply what we’ve learned to our future endeavors.
