An Important Message
Critical thinking skills are what we want our students to develop. Without these skills we cannot guarantee a sound and effective education that will enable our students to seamlessly blend in tomorrow’s job market. Therefore, it is our responsibility as teachers and educators to fully understand the components of this set of skills in order to better focus on them in our instruction.
Mathematics is often thought of as a subject that can develop good thinkers, however, this development needs to planned for; it does not happen by chance.
Thinking skills underpin using and applying mathematics and broad elements of problem solving, communication and reasoning.
