315th ATLS11 Provider Course at CPSP Regional Centre Lahore

The 315th ATLS11 Provider Course is being held on 18–19 September 2026 at the CPSP Regional Centre Lahore, a centre of excellence in postgraduate medical teaching, training and assessment. The Centre continues to provide a vibrant setting for postgraduate education, professional development and assessment, reflecting CPSP’s commitment to high standards of teaching, training and patient care.

The course is directed by Prof. Kamran Khalid Khawaja, with Prof. Mustafa Arain, Prof. Ashar Ahmad, Prof. Tahir Hamid and Dr. Khurram Niaz serving as senior faculty, supported by ATLS instructors from Multan, Bahawalpur and Faisalabad. The participation of faculty from different cities further strengthens the ATLS teaching network and promotes consistency in trauma education.

During the course, Prof. Khalid Masood Gondal, who is Senior Vice President of CPSP, Regional Director of the CPSP Regional Centre Lahore, and a Senior Faculty of ATLS Pakistan, interacted with the faculty and participants. He reiterated his commitment to maintaining high standards of trauma care and trauma training in Pakistan and appreciated the efforts of ATLS faculty in delivering standardized trauma education.

The Provider Course follows the recently concluded inaugural ATLS11 Instructor Course, held at the Centre on 5–6 September 2026, the first ATLS11 Instructor Course in Pakistan. The course brought together experienced ATLS faculty, including Prof. Mahmood Ayyaz, ATLS Pakistan State Chair; Prof. Syed Asghar Naqi; ATLS National Educator, Prof. Abrar Ashraf Ali, ASD Director; and Prof. Khalid Masood Gondal along with other senior ATLS Pakistan Directors and instructors, for faculty development and standardization of ATLS11 teaching. Instructor Courses are pivotal for faculty development and quality assurance of ATLS Provider Courses, helping ensure standardized delivery of ATLS principles and strengthening the quality of trauma training and care.

The regular conduct of ATLS Provider and Instructor Courses at CPSP Regional Centre Lahore reflects the joint commitment of CPSP and ATLS Pakistan to developing trauma faculty, strengthening trauma education and promoting standardized, high-quality trauma care across Pakistan.

Today, several distinguished delegations and senior medical professionals visited CPSP RCL and had interactive session with the Senior Vice President (SVP) prof khalid masood Gondal and Deans CPSP prof Ghulam Mustafa A***n and Prof kamran khalid khawaja . They also extended their warmest congratulations on the successful completion of remarkable professional tenure and highly deserved nomination of SVP for Pakistan's third-civilian award, the Sitara-e-Imtiaz.

Today, the CPSP leadership, representing the current Council, visited and performed the Groundbreaking Ceremony of the CPSP Regional Center Gomal medical college Dera Ismail Khan .
The CPSP delegation was led by the President of CPSP, Prof. Muhammad Shoaib Shafi, and accompanied by Senior Vice President Prof. Khalid Masood Gondal ( Tamghi e imtiaz and Presidential pride of performance) . Other senior council members and delegates in attendance included:

The College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP) marked another historic milestone with the successful organization of its 59th Convocation in Hyderabad, conferring degrees upon more than 150 medical specialists, including 130 Fellows and 20 Members. The prestigious ceremony commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran and the National Anthem, followed by an oath-taking ceremony led by Prof. Abbas Memon, Regional Director CPSP Hyderabad, reminding the graduates to uphold medical ethics and lifelong dedication to humanity.
The event was graced by Senator Amir Waliuddin Chishti, Chairman of the Senate Standing Committee for National Health Services, as Chief Guest, alongside Mr. Muhammad Ismail Rahoo, Provincial Minister for Universities and Boards, Government of Sindh, as Guest of Honour. Prominent medical educationists, healthcare leaders, and CPSP council members from across the country attended the grand gathering. In recognition of extraordinary contributions to medical science, Honorary Fellowships were conferred upon Prof. Naveed Rashid Qureshi and Prof. Abdul Basit, while Dr. Saif Ali Shaikh was awarded the Gold Medal for outstanding academic performance.
Addressing the audience, President CPSP Prof. Mohammad Shoaib Shafi congratulated the graduates and their families, underscoring the international recognition of CPSP qualifications across the UK, Ireland, the Middle East, and South Asia. The Moot commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran. Following this, Prof. Abbas Memon, CPSP Councillor and Regional Director Hyderabad, delivered a warm welcome address, officially greeting the distinguished guests, academicians, and participating fellows.
Following the welcome, the Vice President & Treasurer of CPSP took the stage to brief the audience on the CPSP’s financial framework, emphasizing absolute transparency. He proudly highlighted that CPSP operates with a highly robust financial management system. The college successfully sustains its vast operations and numerous development projects without utilizing a single penny of government funding. This complete self-reliance ensures efficient resource allocation and uninterrupted institutional growth.
Subsequently, Prof. Khalid Masood Gondal, (Senior Vice President CPSP, shared comprehensive updates regarding the institution's national and international advancements & achievements.
He emphasized that CPSP is rapidly expanding its global footprint and fostering strong international medical partnerships.
By continually raising the standard of postgraduate medical education and securing global accreditations, the college is successfully positioning itself as a leading medical institution worldwide.

Prof. Muhammad Shoaib Shafi, President CPSP, expressed his deep appreciation for the dedication and hard work of the fellows and supervisors especially the Heads of Post Graduate Institutions.He highly motivated the medical fraternity by reciting inspiring poetry by Allama Iqbal, encouraging them to continue their pursuit of professional excellence and service. Before the concluding remarks, a highly engaging and interactive question-and-answer session took place.

Following the vision of current Council, the Senior Vice President, College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP) and Regional Director Lahore, Prof. Khalid Masood Gondal, met trainees and supervisors, reaffirming the College's commitment to excellence in postgraduate medical education, training and professional assessment.

During the visit, Prof. Gondal observed the Nephrology examination, reviewing the quality and standards of the assessment, following which he interacted with the Conveners and Examiners and discussed matters related to academic standards and examination quality.

He subsequently met participants of the Research Methodology and Research Paper Writing Workshop, Primary Surgical Skills Workshop and Information Technology Workshop. He emphasized CPSP's commitment to promoting high standards of research among residents, particularly the importance of originality, scientific rigour and quality in postgraduate research. 🤖 CPSP’s Introduction to Artificial Intelligence (AI) Workshop

The College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP) successfully organized an Introduction to Artificial Intelligence (AI) Workshop, bringing together senior faculty members and supervisors to explore the growing role of AI in healthcare and medical education.

The workshop commenced with a welcome address by Prof. Aamer Zaman Khan, followed by introductory remarks by President CPSP, Prof. Shoaib Shafi, and Senior Vice President, Prof. Khalid Masood Gondal.
The workshop was expertly facilitated by Dr. Danish Bhatti, Education Advisor, APPNA, who provided an engaging and insightful learning experience on the applications and potential of AI in healthcare.The participation of senior faculty members and supervisors made the workshop a highly interactive and valuable learning experience. The session concluded with a vote of thanks by Prof. Mehmood Ayyaz.
