DHACSS College for Women celebrated Pakistanβs 79th Independence Day on 14th August 2026 with a vibrant programme that brought together students, faculty and staff in a spirit of patriotism and national pride.
The celebrations commenced with the flag-hoisting ceremony, followed by the National Anthem. The gathering then proceeded to the auditorium, where the formal programme began with Qirat and Naat.
The speeches highlighted the significance of Pakistanβs independence and the responsibilities of the younger generation towards their country. Principal Dr Farhat Agha, in her address, spoke about the value of freedom and encouraged students to uphold national values, remain committed to their country and play a constructive role in Pakistanβs future. She inspired them to develop a strong sense of patriotism and love for Pakistan.
A video presentation added a contemporary dimension to the celebrations, offering students an engaging way to reflect on Pakistan and the meaning of independence. The video competition also provided students with a platform to showcase their creativity, ideas and understanding of the country through a modern medium.
The national song competition brought a strong patriotic spirit to the occasion, with students showcasing their talent through inspiring performances and created an atmosphere of enthusiasm and national pride among the audience.
Students who excelled in the various competitions were recognised through a prize distribution ceremony. The awards acknowledged their talent, creativity, effort and active participation in the Independence Day celebrations.
The celebrations then continued outdoors with sports activities, where students participated enthusiastically in a range of games. The activities added energy, enjoyment and a sense of teamwork to the dayβs celebrations.
A tree-plantation activity was also organised. Principal Dr Farhat Agha, along with students and faculty members, planted a tree as a symbol of growth, hope and a shared commitment to a greener and healthier Pakistan.
As the culmination of a week filled with activities dedicated to Independence Day, the programme on 14 August brought the Collegeβs celebrations to a fitting close. The day provided an opportunity for the College community to reflect on the value of freedom, the responsibilities of citizenship and the importance of contributing positively to the countryβs future.
