Day 03 of Hajj - 10th Dhul-Hijjah (Eid-ul-Adhaa)

Hujjaj (Pilgrims) will do the following:

1. After reading Fajr prayers, a little before sunrise, they leave Muzdalifah to reach Minaa.

2. On reaching Minaa, following three actions are done in sequence:

I. Rami (pelting stones) at Jamarat-ul-Aqabah / Jamarat-ul-Kubra (biggest pillar symbolizing Shaytan) only. 7 stones are pelted by each Haaji.

II. Qurbani / Hadi offered within the boundaries of Haram. This Qurbani is a part of Hajj only (as per Hanafi Fiqh). The Qurbani for Eid ul Adha is a separate one.

III. Halaq (shaving head) or Taqseer (cutting almost one-inch of hair of at least one-fourth of head). Women will only do Taqseer.

On completion of above three steps at Minaa, Hujjaj are out of the state of Ihraam. They don't have to follow Ihraam restrictions anymore. They can return back to hotels to be fresh and take some rest.

3. Hujjaj will go to Masjid-ul-Haraam at Makkah to perform the second Rukn (pillar/compulsory action) of Hajj i.e. Tawaaf al-Ziyaarah, also known as, Tawaaf Ifaadah. Hajj remains incomplete without it. The time for Tawaaf Ifaadah is from Sunrise of 10th Dhul-Hijjah till Sunset of 12th Dhul-Hijjah.

4. Hujjaj will return to Minaa to spend the following night and 11th-12th Dhul-Hijjah.

[P.S. Hujjaj don't read Eid-ul-Adha prayer.]

May Allah T'aala Accept efforts and prayers of all the Hujjaj and may Allah the Most Merciful Give us Tawfeeq to do Hajj next year with ease. Aameen!

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) prayed for forgiveness for his nation one evening at ‘Arafat, and the response came: “I have forgiven them, except for the wrongdoer, with whom I will settle the score in favor of the one whom he wronged.” He ﷺ said: “O Lord, if You will, then grant Paradise to the one who is wronged, and forgive the wrongdoer.” No response came (that evening).

The next day at Muzdalifah he repeated the supplication, and received a response to what he asked for. He (the narrator) said: “The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) laughed,” or he said, “He smiled. Abu Bakr and ‘Umar said to him: ‘May my father and mother be ransomed for you, this is not a time when you usually laugh. What made you laugh, may Allah make your years filled with laughter?’ He said: ‘The enemy of Allah, Iblis, when he came to know that Allah answered my prayer and forgiven my nation, took some dust and started to sprinkle it on his head, uttering cries of woe and doom, and what I saw of his anguish made me laugh.’”

Day 02 of Hajj - 9th Dhul-Hijjah (Day of Arafah) - 1445 Hijri / 2024 C.E.)

Hujjaj (pilgrims) spent the last night in Minaa keeping themselves busy with worship, tasbeeh, takbeer, zikr, dua, durood o salam and took some rest to be fresh for today. Hujjaj will do the following things today:

1. They'll read Fajr and wait for the Sunrise. After Sunrise, they'll depart Minaa to reach Arafaat (عرفات) to perform Wuquf e Arafaat (Staying in Arafaat) which is one of the Rukn-e-A'azam (Most Significant Pillar) of Hajj, other being Tawaaf-al-Ziyarah on 10th of Dhul-Hijjah (tomorrow).

At Arafaat, all the sins which are between Allah and His slave are forgiven (except sins between human beings/creation which will be forgiven at Muzdalifah). According to a Hadith, there is no better day in the sight of Allah than Yawm-ul-Arafah. For those who are not doing Hajj, its recommended (Mustahab) to fast on this day according to the Islamic date in their country, as it will expiate the sins of the past and the coming year.

2. At Arafaat, Hujjaj will listen to the Khutbah delivered by Imam from Masjid Nimrah. Then, Hujjaj will read Zuhr and Asr combined in the time of Zuhr behind the Imam. Following that they will stand at Jabal e Rahmah or nearby it and will make Dua to Allah until Sunset.

3. After Sunset, Hujjaj will leave for Muzdalifah to perform Wuquf-e-Muzdalifah (Staying in Muzdalifah). There Hujjaj will read Maghrib and Ishaa prayers combined in the time of Isha, and will keep themselves busy with good actions to please Allah. Hence, all the sins related to the creation will be forgiven and a pilgrim will become as pure as if s/he was born today. Their stay at Muzdalifah will continue until after fajr (before sunrise) of 10th Dhul-Hijjah to be returned to Minaa.

4. Moreover, Hujjaj will collect at least 49 of small stones from Muzdalifah and wash them, to be pelted at Jamaraat (pillars symbolizing Shaytan) at Mina on 10th-12th of Dhul-Hijjah.

May Allah the Most Merciful accept every single good deed of Hujjaj, accept their prayers and forgive us too along with them. Aameen!

Day 01 of Hajj - 8th Dhul-Hijjah (Yawm al-Tarwiyah)

Hajj begins today with the chants of Labbaik Allahumma Labbaik (Here I am at your service! O Allah! Here I am at your service!)

Today, is the first day of Hajj known as Yawm al-Tarwiyah (the Day of Quenching Thirst). It was given this name because on this day, the early pilgrims were instructed to drink enough water and fill their containers in preparation for the long journey ahead. They would also make sure their animals were properly fed and had consumed enough water to allow them to travel to their destination.

On this day, those Hujjaj (pilgrims) performing Hajj Tamattu will enter the state of Ihraam along with performing 2 Rak'at Nafl prayers and Talbiyah (reciting Labbaik Allahumma Labbaik). It is recommended to carry this out at Masjid al-Haraam.

Those performing Hajj Qiraan or Hajj Ifraad will already be in the state of Ihraam, having Tawaf al-Quduum already performed.
It is the Sunnah to leave for Mina on the 8th of Dhul Hijjah after sunrise as was the practice of the Holy Prophet ﷺ.

Hujjaj will stay in Minaa for the duration of 5 prayers (Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, Isha and Fajr). They keep themselves busy with Talbiyah (Labbaik), Zikr, Quran, Durood Shareef and Prayers.

Due to the Day of Tarwiyah, may Allah T'aala Quench the thirst of our hearts with His Faith, Guidance, Knowledge, Light and Sincerity. Aameen!

This is the orchard of Addaas (عداس), may Allah be well pleased with him, in Taif. When our Beloved Allah's Messenger (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) went to Taif to invite its people towards the truth of Islam, the leaders and the common people of Taif didn't only refuse to listen to his pure message, rather they insulted him, swore at him and made fun of him. Street boys stood in two rows where our Master Muhammad was passing by and hurled stones at him which injured him to such an extent that His Blessed Shoes were filled with blood. When Allah's Messenger (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) couldn't walk any further due to the injurues and pain, he would sit down. People would make him stand again to walk and continue pelting stones at him. Allah's Messenger didn't respond to them harshly and bore everything with great patience and prayed to Allah for their Guidance. Indeed, it was one of the most difficult days in the life of Allah's Messenger (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him).

With extreme sadness and fatigue, when Allah's Messenger came near to this orchard which actually belonged to Utbah bin Rabi'ah (one of the staunch enemies of the Prophet from Makkah), Utbah invited Allah's Messenger (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) to the orchard where his slave Addaas was working. Addaas was a Christian. He presented some grapes to the Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him). As he sat down with the Prophet, he (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) asked Addaas: "What is your name?"
He replied, "Addaas".
He (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) further asked, "Where do you belong to?"
He replied, "Ninevah (نينوى)."
Allah's Messenger (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "That is the city of my brother Prophet Yunus (Jonah - peace be upon him)."
Addaas asked surprisingly, "Who are you?"
Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) answered, "I am Allah's Messenger, Muhammad bin Abdullah."

On simply hearing this, Addaas accepted Islam right away!! Allahu Akber!! Allah's Special Peace and Blessings be upon Prophet Muhammad, Addaas and all the believers. Aameen!

Note: I am so happy that Allah Gave me the honour of seeing the picture of this blessed place where my Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) had spent a few hours centuries before. Alhamdulillah!! A very special thanks to brother الباقر ابن اصول for sharing this picture. May Allah T'ala Bless you with Gardens of Jannat-ul-Firdous in the company of our Master Muhammad (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) and His Family and Companions. Aameen!
