We are proud to announce that students from Aga Khan Schools across Pakistan have won top positions in the Aga Khan University Examination Board’s Secondary and Higher Secondary School Certificate Examinations, 2024.
Overall, the Aga Khan Education Service, Pakistan students have won 31 top positions, including the 1st National Position in the HSSC awarded to Sadia Shafi Muhammad Khuwaja of the Aga Khan Higher Secondary School, Hyderabad.
Our students have made us so proud! Our congratulations to them, their families, and their teachers! We wish you all the best in future academic endeavors!

The Aga Khan Higher Secondary School, Karachi, proudly hosted a Merit Citation Ceremony last week, spotlighting the exceptional achievements of the Batch of 2023. From the sports grounds to academic and co-curricular activities, our students have illuminated every arena on both national and international stages. In the realm of academics, our students have excelled by achieving 11 national and regional positions at the Aga Khan University Examination Board (AKU-EB) and 20 subject distinctions.
We were proud to welcome Barrister Murtaza Wahab, the Mayor of Karachi, as the Chief Guest at the Merit Citation Ceremony. Ms. Samina Chagani, an alumnus of the AKHSS Karachi Batch of 2001, and recipient of the Sitara-e-Imtiaz, graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour. Other distinguished guests included the CEO of the AKU-EB, Dr. Shehzad Jeeva, CEO of the Aga Khan Education Service, Pakistan, Mr. Imtiaz Momin, the leadership of the South region, school leaders, teachers, parents and students.
The highlights of the ceremony included the recognition of Aliza Sabir for her exceptional achievement in playing for Pakistan national cricket and football teams. Equally noteworthy was Rameesha Ahmed securing a National Position at the AKU-EB Board.
The ceremony also featured the launch of three impactful books, authored by Dr. Zahra Batool from the faculty of AKHSS Karachi, and Abd-e-Ali Nauman and Asna Shabib, current students of the school.
A special mention and appreciation were reserved for the dedicated teachers, the true backbone of the institution.
Let's collectively celebrate the holistic success of our students, acknowledging their brilliance not only academia but also in sports and co-curriculars!

Aga Khan Higher Secondary School, Karachi, is thrilled to announce the remarkable achievement of Areeba Akber, who clinched the coveted 1st position in the English Declamation at the All Karachi Declamation Contest organized by the Pakistan Naval Academy.
It's also commendable that Aga Khan Higher Secondary School not only produced an individual winner but also brought home the Team Trophy, showcasing the collective excellence of the school's participants. With competition from 14 distinguished colleges from across Karachi, this victory reflects the school's commitment to academic and extracurricular excellence.
We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Areeba Akber and Nabiha Qamar, their school, dedicated teachers, and supportive parents for this outstanding accomplishment. Undoubtedly, this achievement is a source of pride for the entire school community.

We are extremely proud to share that Hafsa Khalid and Zonera Irfan of Aga Khan Higher Secondary School, Karachi, were selected to participate in the Prime Minister's National Innovation Award.
The Prime Minister's National Innovation Award gathers the best innovative and cutting edge ideas from all over Pakistan. This year, more than 12,000 applicants pitched ideas from which around 250 were selected for the final competition.
Hafsa and Zonera began their journey with a 5-day boot camp at the IBA-Karachi after which they took part in the National level competition in Islamabad.
Hafsa was selected among the top 50 awards nation-wide, and got a cash prize of 0.5 million. This is a remarkable achievement, and it is a testament to the hard work and dedication of Hafsa and the guidance provided by her teacher, Ms. Nazleen.
The program not only provided a platform for young people to present their innovative ideas but also facilitated networking and interaction with individuals from diverse backgrounds across Pakistan.
Congratulations to Hafsa and Zonera and to their mentors Ms. Nazleen and Ms. Erum on this incredible achievement.

21 students from Aga Khan Higher Secondary School, Karachi, and 6 from Sultan Mahomed Shah Aga Khan School, have qualified to represent Pakistan at the International Junior Mathematics Olympiad, to be held in Singapore this May.
Last year, 7 students from AKHSS Karachi qualified for the International Olympiad. The increase in Aga Khan Schools' representation this year is reflective of the hard work and dedication of our talented students.
It is a source of great pride for all of us at Aga Khan Education Service, Pakistan and we are confident that our students will make us proud in the international competition.

Congratulations to Aliza Sabir of Aga Khan Higher Secondary School, Karachi for playing for Pakistan in the recently-concluded ICC Under-19 Women's T20 World Cup 2023! Aliza is an all-rounder, and her selection to the National Team to play in the World Cup is a great honour for her school. 16 countries participated in the tournament in South Africa.
An avid sportsperson, Aliza has also been selected to the National Women's Football Camp by the Pakistan Football Federation. Her great talent and skill in sports has helped win many laurels for AKHSS Karachi. She has captained the school’s girls’ cricket and futsal teams, and played in badminton, table tennis, throw ball and volleyball competitions.
We wish Aliza all the best in future tournaments!

A Merit Citation Ceremony was organized by the Aga Khan Higher Secondary School, Karachi, to celebrate the academic and extracurricular achievements of its students in the academic years 2020–2022.
The Ceremony commenced with an Academic Procession headed by the honorable principal, Dr. Hina Velji, and accompanied by the school faculty and senior management.
Professor Anjum Halai, Vice Provost at the Aga Khan University, Pakistan, presided as the Chief Guest, while while Dr. Shehzad Jeeva, Chief Executive Officer at the Aga Khan University Examination Board was the Guest of Honour. Also gracing the event were the Aga Khan Education Service, Pakistan’s General Manager for South Schools, Ms. Shirin Nooruddin, the academic team of Aga Khan Schools in Karachi, students, parents, teachers, and the school leadership.
Students with notable achievements in academics and extra-curriculars were acknowledged with shields and certificates while those winning top positions in the Aga Khan University Examination Board’s examinations were invited onto the stage along with their parents to honour the critical role parents play in their children’s academic journey and success.
It was a proud day for the students, their school, and their families!
We are happy to share that the 3rd AHC-Girl's Cricket Cup 2023, organised by the Australian High Commission in collaboration with the Jalaluddin Cricket Academy, was won by the Aga Khan Higher Secondary School, Karachi. The Australian High Commissioner to Pakistan, H.E.Neil Hawkins, was the Chief Guest.
AKHSS Karachi has won this trophy for the third year in a row. Lots of congratulations to our students and Sports Heads - Ms. Razmeena, Ms. Shagufta, Sir Ijlal, and Sir Ramzan.
