The honor was conferred at the 17th Brand of the Year Awards ceremony, held on 14th June 2026 at a leading five-star hotel in Karachi, organized by the Brands Foundation. On 22 May 2026, the Department of Student Affairs at Baqai Medical University organized a Heat Stroke Awareness Session at Saeeda Auditorium to educate participants on the prevention, early recognition, and effective management of heat-related emergencies.
The session was conducted by distinguished healthcare experts Prof. Dr. Adil Khan and Dr. Arshad Hamid Khan, who shared valuable insights on identifying warning signs of heat stroke, maintaining proper hydration, and adopting preventive measures during periods of extreme heat.
As climate-related health challenges continue to impact communities worldwide, initiatives such as these play a vital role in strengthening public health awareness, promoting preventive healthcare practices, and enhancing community resilience.
Aligned with United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 3 (SDG 3) – Good Health & Well-Being, the session reinforced the importance of collective action in safeguarding health and well-being during extreme weather conditions.

Baqai Medical University successfully convened its 64th Academic Council Meeting on May 20, 2026, at the Dr. Talha M. Siddiqui Conference Room, under the chairmanship of Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Iftikhar Ahmed. The session brought together key leadership including the Pro Vice-Chancellor, Registrar, Deans, Principals, Directors, and Heads of Departments—reflecting a unified commitment toward academic advancement and institutional excellence.
The Council conducted a comprehensive review of follow-up actions from previous meetings and acknowledged the timely completion of key decisions, reinforcing strong academic governance and compliance culture across the University. Deliberations focused on strengthening assessment frameworks, enhancing quality assurance systems, and promoting transparency in academic evaluation processes.
Strategic discussions also highlighted advancements in postgraduate medical education and emerging healthcare technologies, with emphasis on competency-based academic pathways across undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral levels. In addition, key academic submissions from the Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences—including program specifications, study guides, and curriculum documents—were reviewed as part of ongoing academic standardization efforts.
Reaffirming the University’s vision, the Vice Chancellor emphasized BMU’s continued commitment to academic excellence, curriculum modernization, innovation, and quality assurance in healthcare education—positioning the institution for future-ready academic leadership.

Honoring a legacy of academic excellence, leadership, and decades of profound dedication to medical education. Baqai Medical University officially held the inaugural ceremony of the newly constructed Dr. Talha M. Siddiqui Conference Room on Thursday, May 14, 2026. Situated on the second floor of Block A, this facility has been named in memory of Professor Doctor Talha Mufeed Siddiqui, the former Principal of Baqai Dental College and Chairman of Operative Dentistry, who served the university community with absolute commitment for nearly thirty years as an inspiring educator, researcher, and administrator.
The milestone event was graced by Chancellor Dr. Shoaib Baqai as the Chief Guest, accompanied by the Vice Chancellor, Pro Vice Chancellor, and Registrar. During the ceremony, Chancellor Dr. Shoaib Baqai spoke on the importance of recognizing institutional pillars, stating that the memory of Dr. Siddiqui continues to inspire the structural and academic growth of the university. The Vice Chancellor and Pro Vice Chancellor shared moving insights regarding his exceptional work ethic, emphasizing how his dual focus on student development and clinical research standards laid a permanent blueprint for the faculty.
The Registrar concluded the collaborative tributes by acknowledging the deep respect and admiration Dr. Siddiqui commanded across all administrative tiers. The Higher Education Commission, Pakistan has officially inaugurated a modernized e-Attestation system, making the process of degree verification entirely digital and accessible from anywhere in the world.
Effective May 11, 2026, this system removes traditional barriers such as physical queues and hard-copy submissions. Students and alumni can now manage their attestation needs 24/7 via the official e-services portal, receiving certificates that are instantly verifiable online.
