کنزیومرز ایسوسی ایشن آف پاکستان (CAP) کے زیرِ اہتمام اور سندھ فوڈ اتھارٹی کے اشتراک سے 17ویں کنزیومرز فوڈ سیفٹی اینڈ کوالٹی کانفرنس و ایوارڈز 2026 کا انعقاد پرل کانٹی نینٹل ہوٹل کراچی میں شاندار انداز میں کیا گیا۔

🛡️ کیپ کا فوڈ سیفٹی قوانین پر سختی سے عملدرآمد کا مطالبہ

کانفرنس سے خطاب کرتے ہوئے کنزیومرز ایسوسی ایشن آف پاکستان کے چیئرمین کوکب اقبال نے سندھ حکومت اور متعلقہ ریگولیٹری اداروں پر زور دیا کہ فوڈ سیفٹی قوانین پر مؤثر اور سختی سے عملدرآمد یقینی بنایا جائے اور سندھ میں جدید فوڈ ٹیسٹنگ لیبارٹری قائم کی جائے۔

انہوں نے واضح کیا کہ:

“محفوظ خوراک ہر صارف کا بنیادی حق ہے۔”

کوکب اقبال نے روایتی معائنہ کاری کے بجائے پیشگی حفاظتی، سائنسی، جدید اور ٹیکنالوجی پر مبنی نظام اختیار کرنے کی ضرورت پر زور دیا۔

چیئرمین کیپ کوکب اقبال نے سندھ فوڈ اتھارٹی کی کارکردگی اور کوششوں کو سراہتے ہوئے بالخصوص ڈی جی شہزاد فضل عباسی اور ان کی ٹیم کی خدمات کو قابلِ تحسین قرار دیا۔

کنزیومرز ایسوسی ایشن آف پاکستان (CAP) نے ایک مرتبہ پھر اس عزم کا اظہار کیا کہ ملک میں ہر صارف کو محفوظ، معیاری، صاف اور صحت بخش خوراک کی فراہمی کے لیے اپنی جدوجہد جاری رکھے گی۔

کیپ نے زور دیا کہ پاکستان میں فوڈ سیفٹی کے لیے:

سائنس + ٹیکنالوجی + ڈیٹا + لیبارٹری ٹیسٹنگ + ٹریس ایبلٹی + مؤثر قانون پر عملدرآمد

پر مبنی جدید نظام ناگزیر ہے۔

کانفرنس میں اس امر پر بھی زور دیا گیا کہ حکومت، ریگولیٹری اداروں، مینوفیکچررز، ریٹیلرز، ہاسپیٹیلٹی انڈسٹری اور صارفین کے درمیان مؤثر تعاون ہی محفوظ اور معیاری خوراک کے نظام کو مضبوط بنا سکتا ہے۔

*A newly launched laboratory assessment in Pakistan has revealed a major food safety crisis*, showing that 36% of packaged ghee, cooking oil, and milk samples failed to meet national quality standards.

*The findings were officially compiled by the Pakistan Standards and Quality Control Authority (PSQCA) following scientific testing conducted by the Pakistan Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (PCSIR).*

*Key Findings of the Report*
The testing evaluated 491 total packaged food samples from markets nationwide, out of which 176 samples were declared non-compliant.

*Banaspati Ghee*: Hit hardest by quality issues, with 48% of samples failing national standards (98 out of 204 samples).

*Blended Cooking Oil*: Recorded a 27% failure rate (40 out of 146 samples).

*Refined Palm Oil*: A staggering 75% of samples failed to meet compliance metrics (3 out of 4 samples).

*Refined Canola Oil*: Out of 13 samples, only 1 failed to meet standard guidelines.

*Packaged Dairy*: One-fourth (25%) of liquid milk samples and 44% of milk powder samples were also found substandard.
