This week's session was on Contextual Cues.
When children encounter an unfamiliar word in reading, they may make use of context cues, that is, information from pictures or from sentences surrounding the unknown word.
It helps to increase child's vocabulary, reading comprehension, and make children better readers.

Step 2 - Questioning
In this week's session our young learners were encouraged to ask questions about pictures, passages and different questions from their peers to help them connect with each other. Questioning boosts a child's confidence, makes him able to put forth his views, and helps him figure out how his world works by seeking information.
As children ask questions, they are developing critical thinking skills that build brain power. Asking questions is also an important form of communication!
