There are 6 Cantonment Boards in Karachi.

Cantonment Board Clifton.
Cantonment Board Faisal.
Karachi Cantonment Board.
Cantonment Board Malir.
Cantonment Board Korangi Creek.
Manora Cantonment Board.

Then there are vast areas under control of other federal organisations like KPT, PQA, Railways, Steel Mills, Airports etc. which are not under the control of provincial government.

All these Cantonment Boards and other areas which are under the control of the federal organisations be merged in KMC and respective DMCs. Civic services are provided by local authorities under the control of provincial governments. Karachi needs unitary civic services system.

The dual controls under provincial and federal governments are the root cause of civic services mess. When the local bodies were under the control of provincial government, Karachi was without such problems.

This project was a labour of love to work on, under the visionary to start the first ever 24/7 library in Karachi. The library is now open throughout!
