President Asif Ali Zardari visited the hometown of China's founding Chairman, Mao Zedong, in Shaoshan during his official visit to the country.

The president laid a wreath at the statue of Chairman Mao at Statue Square and paid tribute to the Chinese revolutionary leader.

During his visit, he was briefed on the life and struggle of Chairman Mao Zedong, his early years in Shaoshan and the influences that shaped his political thought.

President Zardari paid tribute to Chairman Mao’s role in China’s historical transformation and acknowledged his contribution to the country’s struggle, unity and development.

A private bill has been introduced in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly to regulate the production, sale and distribution of naswar in the province.

The Regulation of S***f (Naswar) Bill, 2026, tabled by PML-N’s Aamna Sardar, proposes licensing for sellers, sealed packaging, and fines of up to Rs30,000 for illegal sales.

The bill also seeks to ban sales near schools, madarsas and hospitals, prohibit sales to minors, and impose a Rs1,000 fine for spitting naswar in public. If approved, it would bring naswar under a formal regulatory framework for the first time in KP.

PTI founder Imran Khan was brought to PIMS hospital on Tuesday for follow-up treatment of his eye condition, a hospital spokesperson said.

According to PIMS, he was examined by ophthalmologists before the procedure and found to be clinically stable. An optical coherence tomography scan showed clinical improvement.

He received a fourth intravitreal anti-VEGF injection and was discharged the same morning after remaining stable throughout the procedure, the hospital administration said. The injection was administered under standard monitoring and established surgical protocols.

Imran Khan last received a similar injection on March 23. He is being treated for right central retinal vein occlusion (CRVO), diagnosed in late January. His earlier treatments were carried out on January 24 and February

The Parachinar Airport in Kurram district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has been reactivated and made operational after a prolonged period of inactivity, state-owned media reported.

The airport has reopened through the efforts of the Pakistan Army, the Frontier Works Organization (FWO), and the Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA). Officials said the reconstruction and rehabilitation of Parachinar Airport mark an important step toward restoring air transport in the region.

Following the airport’s upgradation, Pakistan Army Aviation conducted successful operational landing and takeoff trials. A total of six landing and takeoff trials were completed to assess the quality of construction, runway functionality, and overall operational readiness. The airport runways were declared to meet professional standards and high safety requirements.

A woman arrested for k!dnapping a four-year-old boy to allegedly fund her plan to travel to France was later identified as his aunt.

The incident occurred in Quetta where the woman, a medical student, abducted her cousin’s son and demanded $60,000 in ransom. The suspect wanted to travel to France to become a doctor. The case stunned the family as the k!dnapping was carried out by someone close to the child.

The Serious Crime Investigation Wing (SCIW) of the police recovered the child safely, while raids are underway to arrest other suspects believed to be involved.
