Shaheen Shah Afridi, the renowned Pakistani fast bowler, is anticipated to be absent for portions of the forthcoming five-match T201 series against New Zealand. This decision aligns with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB)'s strategy to alleviate the workload on the team's primary pacers.

According to reports, ongoing deliberations aim to safeguard the fast bowlers from undue strain and to evaluate the performance and fitness of emerging players.

It is expected that fast bowlers making a comeback are more likely to be included in the T201 series against New Zealand.

There is anticipation that key fast bowlers, including Shaheen, might be rested for either the initial matches or even the entirety of the series against the visiting team, scheduled to commence on April 18.

This development comes subsequent to the PCB's decision to replace Shaheen with Babar Azam as the T201 captain, a shift that purportedly left the former captain dissatisfied with the abrupt change in leadership. 😍
