Introduction:
Qasmi Tibbi College (QTC) was built by Qasmi educational Society under the leadership of Hakim (Naturopath) Muhammad Qasim Siddiqui (late) on 2003. College is administered by Principle Professor Hakim Shafeeq Ahmed Burq. This is the first and only college in Karachi that is imparting the professional 4 years course in Unani Naturopathy that is Fazil tibb wal Jarahat (Diploma in Unani Medicine and Surgery) equivalent to BUMS after FSc (premed).QTC is recognized by “National Council for Tibb” Ministry of Health, Government of Pakistan. An accrediting body for Unani Medical Colleges. Unani Naturopathic Method comprises of treatments into 4 broad groups
1. Ilaj-Bil-Ghiza(Dietotherapy)-Treatment through Diet adjustments.
2. Ilaj-Bil-Tadbeer(Regimental therapy)- Treatment through certain procedures, tools and equipments. are massage, exercise, hydrotherapy, cupping, fomentation and many others.
3. Ilaj-Bil-Dawa(Pharmacotherapy)- Treatment through Drugs/Medicines, which are of Plant, Mineral or Animal Origin.
4. Ilaj-Bil-Yad(Surgery)- Treatment through Minor /Major Operative Procedures. The six principles that guide the therapeutic methods and modalities of Unani Naturopathic medicine include:

Unani Naturopathic physicians are preventive medicine specialists. Physicians assess patient risk factors and heredity susceptibility and intervene appropriately to reduce risk and prevent illness. Admission Requirements: FSc (premed) and those with higher qualifications are preferred (as per ammendement in UAH Act 2002). Course duration: 4 years full time. House job: 6 months after completion of 4 years course. Diploma: Granted by State regulatory authority that is National Council for Tibb, Government of Pakistan. Registration title by state: Registered Unani Medical Practitioner (RUMP).
