Ameen Raza Khan, who joined MERL in 2022 as an intern. Shameel Ansari, who joined MERL in 2021 as an Intern. During his internship, Shameel worked on the 𝐃𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐚 𝐑𝐈𝐒𝐂-𝐕 𝐅𝐥𝐨𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐭 (𝐅𝐏𝐔) and contributed to FPGA emulation, showcasing his technical prowess and commitment.

Recognizing his exceptional talent, Shameel was promoted to Research Assistant, where he led the 𝐃𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐆𝐏𝐈𝐎 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐩𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐥, demonstrating his ability to lead and deliver complex projects.

In 2023, Shameel’s dedication earned him another promotion to Research Associate, where he undertook the 𝐃𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐖𝐌 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐩𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐥 and developed the 𝐏𝐲-𝐔𝐕𝐌 and 𝐔𝐕𝐌 frameworks for verifying both GPIO and PWM peripherals. Alongside his project responsibilities, he also led internship programs for new trainees, guiding them with his expertise and leadership.

Beyond his technical accomplishments, Shameel actively participated in expos, open houses, and orientations, proudly representing MERL and its mission. He also attended various training sessions led by MERL to enhance his skills and knowledge. Additionally, he served as a 𝐕𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐅𝐚𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐲 member twice at DHA Suffa University (Official), where he inspired and mentored aspiring engineers.

We would like to inform everyone that Micro Electronics Research Lab - MERL DSU will be closing its operations at DHA Suffa University (Official). This decision comes after careful consideration, and while we are saddened to part ways, we reflect on our time here with immense pride and gratitude.

Over the years, we have been involved in a variety of innovative projects and groundbreaking research, contributing significantly to the academic and scientific community. Our collaborations have resulted in numerous training's, internships, and events that have showcased the talent and dedication of our team and the university.

The 𝐌𝐄𝐑𝐋 (𝐌𝐢𝐜𝐫𝐨𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐬 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝐋𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲) team from Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology (SSUET) visit to the Micro Electronics Research Lab - MERL DSU on 25th January 2024 at DHA Suffa University (Official). During the visit, the SSUET team had the opportunity to witness the latest achievement of MERL DSU a newly received silicon designed through their participation in the 𝐌𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐢-𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐖𝐚𝐟𝐞𝐫 (𝐌𝐏𝐖-𝟐 & 𝐌𝐏𝐖-𝟔), sponsored by Google, Efabless Corporation (efabless.com), and SkyWater Technology.

The MERL DSU team took the initiative to showcase their advanced capabilities by presenting the newly fabricated silicon to the SSUET visitors. This accomplishment marked a significant milestone for the DSU chapter, highlighting their commitment to cutting-edge research and innovation in the field of microelectronics.

In addition to the silicon demonstration, the MERL DSU team organized a comprehensive 𝐅𝐏𝐆𝐀 (𝐅𝐢𝐞𝐥𝐝-𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐆𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐀𝐫𝐫𝐚𝐲) tutorial for the visiting SSUET team. This tutorial aimed to provide insights into FPGA technology, its applications, and practical aspects of its implementation. The interactive session facilitated knowledge exchange and served as a platform for collaboration between the two MERL chapters.
