Behind every successful journey is someone who believed in us before we fully believed in ourselves.

Recently, I had the opportunity to reconnect with someone who has played an important role in my professional journey.

As I reflected on our conversations over the years, I realized something.

The courses we attend, the books we read, and the skills we learn are all important.

But sometimes, it's a single conversation with the right person that gives us the confidence to take the next step.

Growth isn't just about collecting knowledge.

It's also about surrounding ourselves with people who challenge us, encourage us, and remind us of what's possible.

As you continue building your own journey, don't just invest in new skills.

Invest in meaningful relationships too.

Both have the power to shape your future.

One idea has been challenging the way I think lately...

What if we celebrated attempts instead of outcomes?

From a young age, we're taught to celebrate good grades, promotions, awards and achievements.

Very few of us are taught to celebrate trying.

Yet every skill we admire today was built on a long list of unsuccessful attempts.

Every business started with uncertainty.

Every freelancer sent a first proposal.

Every designer created work that wasn't good enough.

Every speaker gave a presentation they'd rather forget.

Progress has never belonged to the people who never failed.

It belongs to the people who kept showing up.

Maybe the goal isn't to avoid failure.

Maybe the goal is to become someone who's willing to try again.

Because every attempt teaches us something success never could.

The biggest investment I've ever made wasn't in software, equipment or courses.

It was learning.

Every skill I chose to learn opened a door I couldn't see at the time.

Some made me better at my work.

Some changed the way I think.

And a few completely changed the direction of my career.

That's why I've come to believe one thing:

Skills don't just help us earn more.

They help us become more.

But at ’s AI Vision event, one idea stayed with me:

And that’s exactly what I see behind the scenes.

Before I design any slide, I don’t open

PowerPoint.

Or Prezi.

Or Canva.

I fix the thinking.

Because no matter how powerful the tool is:

→ more slides ≠ better communication

→ faster output ≠ clearer message

If the direction isn’t clear:

AI just helps you create confusion… faster.

So before anything else, I focus on:

→ What is the core idea?

→ What should the audience understand first?

→ What can be removed?

Only then does design begin.

Tools can accelerate ex*****on.

But clarity still decides impact.

I just finished working on a Prezi project and during the project I was,

𝐋𝐨𝐰 𝐨𝐧 𝐬𝐥𝐞𝐞𝐩. 𝐓𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞. 𝐀𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐥… 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐚𝐬𝐧’𝐭 𝐜𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 🤔

The client was requesting changes, but

❌not to the content,

✔️but to how it looked (design).🖼️

𝐌𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐝𝐞𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐬. 𝐋𝐞𝐬𝐬 “ #𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐳𝐢 𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐤.”

At first, I was thinking - isn’t this what Prezi is for?

But then I had an epiphany.

They didn’t want a tool.

They wanted something that didn’t look like one.👀

So I stepped outside of it and created pieces of it elsewhere.

I perfected.

And then I brought it all together.

And suddenly - it worked.💃

That’s when I understood:

The value isn’t in knowing a tool.

It’s in knowing - when to move beyond it.
