Found a hidden little jungle in Karachi! Couldn’t get my eyes off these ! This is wall art done right. Fell in love with Pinch & Co. because of its outdoor space and can’t wait to visit again. By the way the food was different and flavorful as well.

Three black rumped flameback woodpeckers playing with each other.
It was utterly amazing seeing these animated birds socializing this way right in front of our eyes. There’s so much of entertainment and excitement hidden within Mother nature and she shares wholeheartedly with those who go seeking it.

The black-rumped Flamebacked woodpecker has now officially become the most beautiful bird I have ever seen in the wild and that too so closely.
Apart from their brightly colored plumage that makes them stand out, they also make a unique whinnying ki ki ki ki sound lead by a sharp trill. These omnivores are one of the very few woodpeckers that live near urban areas. These birds we found at a farm in Gharo, Karachi.
Make time to take your children out of their routine, cemented and tech frenzied life and explore the outdoors and nature to find such magnificent creatures.

Propagation day!
So after yesterday’s rain this diverse family stopped over to say hello. Mama crow with her three fledglings; two cuckoo and one crow.
Our neighborhood trees host several cuckoos and every now and then, my kids and I revel in this extraordinary display of parasitism. The great interloper cuckoo lays its eggs in the crow’s nest and the selfless crow raises her young as her own.
