Difficult times for Visit Visa Applicants...

𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐰𝐞 𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 5 𝐘𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐕𝐢𝐬𝐚𝐬, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐮𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐏𝐀𝐏𝐬?

The answer: 𝑳𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒂𝒅𝒂𝒑𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈!

There are no two ways to put this, UKVI is NOT very welcoming towards Pakistani applicants right now. There have been more refusals in the last 12-18 months than any point in history!

But the question remains, how did Mrs Jutt get a 𝟓 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐚 with these rules?

How was Mrs. Shagufta's 𝐏𝐀𝐏 𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐝 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧 𝟗𝟎 𝐝𝐚𝐲𝐬 when we applied after her refusal?

We dived deep into countless refusal letters, and took out the most common points. While on surface, the most common refusal reasons were still finances and ties, these are the key things that UKVI now demands:

❌ Your family declaration and FRCs are not enough.
✅ Show other strong evidences and soft ties to prove that you're leaving behind actual family.

❌ Just a good bank statement? Goes to the bin!
✅ Explain your finances in a way that reflects your lifestyle declared in the cover letter.

❌ Usual ties alone are not enough.
✅ Show them you're happy in your home country without loads of paper work. Prove your lifestyle is good enough that you won't need to overstay.

Visit applications, particularly Pakistan ones, are being seen with a lot of skepticism by UKVI. You don't just need a good application. You have to prove that you're not another person looking to overstay!

We know that summer calls for inviting your parents, siblings and other close ones.

Let us explain how these three important things can be achieved for your application…

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐨𝐧:

“I am going to see my son”. Yeah, that’s a basic human right.

But did you explain how close you are to them? How long it has been since you last met? Does the visit coincide with a birthday, engagement or perhaps a convocation?

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐓𝐢𝐞𝐬:

As explained plenty of times before, money is not the only tie.

Your case officer judges the case on the basis of probability. They will see if you have an overwhelming chance of going back, or overstaying in the UK.

So don’t just show statements and FRCs. Explain your life; family, your activities, your social circle, things that you’re tied to in your home country.

𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑭𝒊𝒏𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒆𝒔:

No matter how big your bank statement is, if it’s not justified against your sources of earning and your lifestyle, you will get a sure shot refusal.

✅ Your bank statement should be clean. No huge deposits or unnecessary withdrawals. (We usually work at least 10-weeks on our client statements before submissions)

✅ It should be reflecting your earnings,expenses, and justify your annual tax returns.

✅ And lastly, they should have a monthly surplus. Showing that you live a comfortable life and make savings every single month.

𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑩𝒐𝒕𝒕𝒐𝒎 𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒆:

The UKVI has been much more generous with approvals in the past few weeks. Whether you cash in on this, depends completely on how well you present the things mentioned above.

After a very difficult last 2 quarters, we have noticed a lot of success stories in Visit Visa applications.

We have seen a lot of applicants getting better results since Feb 2026.

Similar applications that were being refused straight up in 2025, are now getting approved. Same can be said for Pre-Action applications filed by various group members.

- 𝐅𝐞𝐰 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓 𝐩𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐲:

2025 was perhaps the most dramatic year in terms of immigration rule changes. UKVI was apparently working to keep the immigration scores as low as possible, and reduce the numbers of illegal immigrants by shadow restricting most visa types, including student and visit visas.

Now that those targets have been achieved, there might be a slight shift in policy and restrictions. (This is an assumption based on recent results)

- 𝐄-𝐕𝐢𝐬𝐚 𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬:

While E-visa is not the holy grail for curbing down on illegal immigration. It certainly helps in reducing false identity cases, and can be encouraging for genuine applicants.

𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬:

The global uncertainties over the last few months have made immigration policies volatile and unpredictable.

While we faced a difficult scenario in the past few months, there is definitely a positive trend seen lately.

So if you want to file a visit visa application, this might actually be a relatively good time.

Here’s a breakdown on why the best time to apply for September intake is NOW:

𝑺𝒕𝒓𝒊𝒄𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝑹𝒖𝒍𝒆𝒔:

Scrutiny among universities has increased significantly. More documents, more scrutiny and more interviews mean that you need extra time to be prepared and ready.

𝑳𝒐𝒏𝒈𝒆𝒓 𝒗𝒊𝒔𝒂 𝒂𝒑𝒑𝒍𝒊𝒄𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒘𝒂𝒊𝒕:

There is reasonable evidence to suggest that the UKVI is taking much longer to reply for visa applications.

During January intake, even the priority applications (5 days) took over a month in some cases. Applying early can reduce the risk of visa delays and inconveniences.

𝑰𝑬𝑳𝑻𝑺 & 𝑨𝑻𝑨𝑺:

Specialised programs like MRes and 2nd Masters require more certifications and higher language proficiency. Starting your preparations NOW will ensure that you have it all ready in time.

ATAS is taking as long as 3-4 month in some cases, and resulting in failed attempts for last minute applicants.

𝑴𝒐𝒓𝒆 𝒐𝒑𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒔, 𝒍𝒆𝒔𝒔 𝒔𝒕𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒔:

With so much competition and limited seats, applying for just one university is NOT a very bright idea.

Starting your application in time (NOW) ensures that there are seats available at your desired university, and you also have a few back up options to avoid a dead-end in the summer.

𝑰𝒎𝒑𝒐𝒓𝒕𝒂𝒏𝒕:

To put it simply and bluntly, if your plan is to apply for MRes or 2nd Masters by May or June, you are simply planning for disappointment.

It is imperative that you take this decision after consulting with professionals who have proven history of successful applications.

How did retired Mr. and Mrs. Chaudhry get their visas approved after their initial application failed?

The journey is not impossible, but it is much more difficult these days.

Here is a breakdown of some tips for a successful application:

𝟏- 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞

- You have a notary (stamp) document for assets and finances? No good!
𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐝𝐨:
Get it verified by a government office or authority.

- Your FRC shows your whole family tree? That’s NOT enough!
𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐝𝐨:
Give more details. Where your family lives? What they do? Your ties in home country HAVE TO BE STRONGER than your ties in the UK.

- Bank statement and job letters? Sorry, everyone has them!
𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐝𝐨:
Be crystal clear on your sources. Make sure that your statements don't just reflect funds. They should explain a COMFORTABLE LIFE in home country.

𝟐- 𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐦𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐠𝐨 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐑𝐎𝐔𝐍𝐃 𝟐:
- UKVI refused your application without a solid reason? You are not alone!
𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐝𝐨:
A lot of applications are being refused even without proper scrutiny. Even the 'best' applications face rejections. In this case, you need a strong legal response.

- There is no 'Right to Appeal' so drafting a strong and logical legal response (Pre-Action Protocol) is the only option.

𝟑- 𝐖𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐢𝐬 𝐏𝐀𝐏 𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐝𝐨𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐭 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤?
- PAP is a legal notice. It does not challenge the decision itself, but the quality of review based on your initial application.

Remember: PAP will only be fruitful if your initial application is strong, and covers all aspects of UKVI visit visas policies (Appendix 4.2 - 4.6)

- Initial PAP process can take up to 30-45 days for preparation, filing and decision making. It is imperative that your legal aid has great understanding of procedures and immigration laws. The market is full of self-proclaimed 'Legal Geniuses' but only a few know how to get it right.

- In 2025, we have had a 90% success rate on initial PAP applications. This is because of 2 things; Strong initial application, and a well drafted legal challenge.

𝐏𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫, these are unprecedented times in terms of immigration and visa policies. And you should always consult a well-established legal mind while drafting your application or Pre-Action drafts.

Visit visa refusals are perhaps at the highest rate ever in the UK. Applications that were considered straightforward like convocations, health issues, family events, are now being refused for the strangest reasons.

𝑩𝒖𝒕 𝑾𝒉𝒚?

Immigration has been the main point of political contention in the UK. The Labour Party is under tremendous pressure to bring down illegal immigration numbers.

To achieve their targets, they have restricted several visas like visit, for nationalities that are statistically more likely to apply for assylum and illegal stay.

This has left numerous South Asian families in tremendous pain of not being able to see their loved ones.

𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑺𝒐𝒍𝒖𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏?

𝑩𝒆 𝑷𝒓𝒆𝒑𝒂𝒓𝒆𝒅:
There is no single text-book solution and the situation will remain the same until UK government is able to curb illegal immigration significantly. So the best course of action is to adapt to their new strict rules.

𝑶𝒏𝒍𝒚 𝒂𝒑𝒑𝒍𝒚 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒂 𝒔𝒕𝒓𝒐𝒏𝒈 𝒄𝒂𝒔𝒆:
It is now even more important to completely ensure that evry document is strong, true and verifiable. Only good bank statements or travel history are being considered right now.

For example, rental income notary agreements from Pakistan are not enough,they should be verified by local authorities. Income is not enough, how you earn the money, and how you declare it, is also important to show.

𝑲𝒆𝒆𝒑 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈𝒔 𝒕𝒓𝒖𝒆 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒉𝒐𝒏𝒆𝒔𝒕:
This is always the case. But now with more thorough checks, it is mandatory that your bnk statements, job letters and other documents are built over time, and are 100% legit, ALWAYS!

𝑩𝒆 𝒑𝒓𝒆𝒑𝒂𝒓𝒆𝒅 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒊𝒏𝒊𝒕𝒊𝒂𝒍 𝒅𝒊𝒔𝒂𝒑𝒑𝒐𝒊𝒏𝒕𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕:
We have closely seen that even the best applications are being refused without any good reason. This is unfortunately a norm these days. You should have a strong team on your back that can challenge the decision legally, and win your case for you.

A challenge is only possible if your initial application is flawless and according to the UKVI immigration policies.
