Today, the leadership team of the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS), Swat, held a highly productive consultative meeting with representatives from the global research and analytics giant, Elsevier/Scopus.
The university was represented by Dr. Khalid Khan (Addl.Registrar), Dr. Ajaab Khan (Director QEC), and Mr. Hazrat Younas (HEC Focal Person), who engaged in strategic discussions with Mr. Shobhit Kotiyal from Elsevier.
Mr. Shobhit Kotiyal highlighted how Scopus and Elsevier tools enhance research quality, elevate institutional profiling, and support universities in climbing global rankings such as the QS World University Rankings.Addl.Registrar Dr. Khalid Khan briefed the visitors on the university’s robust institutional framework and evolving academic structure. Director QEC Dr. Ajaab Khan shared the core research areas driving innovation at UVAS Swat. HEC Focal Person Mr. Hazrat Younas outlined the university’s unique academic specializations and the ongoing accreditation processes for our advanced MS/MPhil and PhD programs.

🎓 Capacity Building Training on Examination Duties & Invigilation at UVAS SWAT 🎓
UVAS Swat successfully conducted a comprehensive Capacity Building Training Session on Examination Duties and Invigilation for all faculty members. Jointly organized by the Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) and the Controller of Examinations, the session aimed to strengthen the faculty's understanding of examination procedures, invigilation responsibilities, and best practices for ensuring absolute transparency and fairness.
The session was facilitated by Dr. Ajab Khan, Director QEC, who delivered a detailed presentation on maintaining discipline, impartiality, and academic integrity. Faculty members were guided on their pivotal duties before, during, and after examinations, emphasizing a strict adherence to university regulations.
The training underscored the importance of creating a conducive, stress-free environment for students while maintaining high vigilance and professionalism.
Attendees were briefed on timely reporting, accurate documentation, confidentiality, and seamless coordination with examination staff.
The presentation was followed by a highly interactive Q&A session, allowing faculty members to discuss practical on-ground challenges and clarify university examination policies.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks from Dr. Ajab Khan, who appreciated the faculty's active engagement and acknowledged the combined support of the QEC and the Controller of Examinations in organizing this vital professional development initiative.

Progress Review: University of Veterinary and Animal Science (UVAS), Swat.
A high-level review meeting was held last week to assess the ongoing progress and development of UVAS Swat.
The session was chaired by the Additional Chief Secretary of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Lt. (Retd.) Mr.Islam Zeb, and attended by Secretary of Livestock Mr. Zarif-ul-Mani.
During the briefing, Vice Chancellor Dr. Shakeebullah, alongside Additional Registrar Dr. Khalid Khan, presented a comprehensive progress report on the university. The administration highlighted the institution's strategic vision and formally urged the provincial government to allocate sufficient budgetary funds. Meeting these financial requirements is critical to completing the campus infrastructure and maintaining the highest standards of quality education.
The provincial leadership reaffirmed its commitment to supporting higher education and livestock development in the region.

UVAS Swat Commemorates 1st Anniversary of Ma'raka-e-Haq 🇵🇰
The University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS), Swat, under the patronship of Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Shakeeb Ullah, solemnly commemorated the first anniversary of Ma'raka-e-Haq under the powerful theme, “Ye Ghazi, Ye Tery Pursar Bandy.”
The meaningful event was organized by the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS), UVAS Swat, to instill a deep sense of patriotism, sacrifice, and national unity among the youth.
The event began with a soulful recitation of the Holy Quran by Ms. Haseena Farooq (Dept. of English), followed by a beautiful Naat recited by Ms. Faryal Ikram.
Students delivered passionate speeches highlighting courage, national pride, and the ultimate sacrifices made for the homeland.
A deeply moving theatrical performance depicting the life and sacrifice of an Armed Forces Shaheed—performed by Shahaan (Dept. of English) and fellow students—deeply resonated with the audience and received widespread appreciation.
The ceremony concluded with an energetic solidarity walk to pay tribute to the Pakistan Army. The Dean, Heads of Departments, faculty, staff, and students marched together holding banners and placards in a strong show of support and gratitude.
The successful ex*****on of the program was supervised by Dr. Muhammad Ismail (In-Charge, FASS) and coordinated by Ms. Azka Mehmood (Lecturer, Dept. of Management Sciences) and Ms. Maria Ilyas (HoD, Dept. of Psychology). The event was gracefully hosted by Ms. Faryal Ikram and Ms. Mustaqima (Dept. of Psychology).
At the conclusion, the Dean of FASS delivered concluding remarks and distributed certificates to the participants, appreciating their dedication.
The event was organized with the invaluable support of the In-Charge of Co-Curricular Activities and the UVAS Swat University Administration.

𝗛𝗢𝗡𝗛𝗔𝗔𝗥 𝗨𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗱𝘂𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺
The Punjab Higher Education Commission handed over a scholarship cheque worth Rs. 2.0 million to UVAS Swat under the CM Honhaar Undergraduate Scholarship Program on May 15, 2026. The cheque was received by Dr. Khalid Khan, Additional Registrar, and Mr. Muhammad Ajmal, Assistant Auditor.
The scholarship amount will support 13 deserving students of the University.
Prof. Dr. Shakeeb Ullah, Vice Chancellor, UVAS Swat, appreciated the Government of Punjab for its continued commitment to promoting higher education and supporting financially deserving students through this commendable initiative.
The scholarship distribution ceremony for students will be held immediately after Eid-ul-Adha.
