Yaqub Al Kindi: Al-Kindi Books| A History of Philosophy

Al-Kindi's works/ Books:
Al-Kindi continued to build the tower of all knowledge. He was a contemporary of those who translated Greek books in Arabic. The total number of authored works on various sciences and arts is 242, of which only 40 have survived. Umar Farooq Al-Taba had given the list of his complete books in his book “Al-Kindi”. He translated Aristotle's metaphysics and theology into Arabic. Most of the books are not available in these days.
However, following books have been published: Al-Kindi Al-Musiqiyyah, Rasaal Al-Kandi, Risala Al-Kindi Fi Al-Sayyuf, Kitab Al-Kandi Al-Huroof, and Alchemy of Perfumes. There are a significant number of translations of his books in Latin and Hebrew in European libraries and universities. A large number of philosophical journals were mentioned by Abu Reza in his writings in 950.

Philosophy of sciences:
The fame of Kindi philosophy shone like a sun on sky. Although unfamiliar with Greek, but under his supervision, a team of translators translated books from Greek into Arabic. So he was accessed of the books of Greek philosophers i.e Aristotle, Ptolemy and Hippocrates.
His first book on philosophy was “The First Philosophy”. Ibn Nadeem wrote: "The most distinguished man of his time, was unique in his time because of his antiquity had accessed to science. " The difference between Kundi's philosophical authenticity and inspiration was the process, not the essence. Of Philosophical knowledge depends on the knowledge that comes from observation of the intellect which would have been possible only after years of practice and study. When Caliph Mutawakkil had started supporting the conservatives, the days of suffering were started over.
Yaqub Al-Kindi is considered as one of the best translators of the Abbasid Caliphate. He not only translated books of philosophy but also interpreted and summarized them. In the Islamic world, Kindi was known as the first philosopher. He wrote many magazines on theology issues. Such as a magazine "Mananiya" and a magazine "Sanwiyyah".
He also wrote a treatise on prophecy. He clarified in a magazine that Why the celestial bodies prostrate to God? He said: Prostration means that the celestial laws follow nature. Thus, Kindi was the first philosopher and scholar who started a scientific interpretation of the Qur'an. He denied some theologians in a magazine. Generally, He was considered as an imitator of Aristotle.
It is important to know the circumstances of that period in order to know the ideas of Kindi. Once Imam Ahmad ibn Hanbal (855-780 AD) was asked about the creation of the Qur'an. He said: The Qur'an is the word of God and don't argue its subject. In contrast, the Mu'tazilites, despite being Judeans always thought it not wrong to discuss the existence of God, the creation of the universe, the end of the universe, the physical union.
Al-Kindi agreed with Mu'tazilah's views on the issue of religion and sharia and meditation is perfectly natural and permissible. Kindi once wrote that he follow logical people, which was in fact a reference to the Mu'tazilites.
Mu'tazilah raised argue of issues of Shariah because they believe to emphasize logic or reasoning rather than blind followership. Of imitation What was special about Kindi was that he was always moderate, whether it was God or science. This standard of scholarship has not been set by anyone else.
