A beautiful first day experience shared by one of our ex sacredian:

It was in 1966 when I joined KG at the age of five. I have vivid memory of green lawns, carefully manicured hedges and flowerbeds. Our teachers were a dedicated and loving group of nuns from Holland. My first day at school was such a delight when I was welcomed and encouraged in the warm embrace of one of them. I never looked back at my mother who left me in care of one of the nuns after warning her about my mischievous nature. I remember the walls in our classroom were covered with dark wooden cupboards with glass windows, and in these were innumerable toys arrayed especially to catch imagination of a young mind. I actually felt that I was in heaven. Love and care that was offered to all us kids was genuine and spoke volumes about dedication of those ladies thousands of miles from their homes....just to spread humanity and love.
