John F. Kennedy was the 35th President of the United States (1961-1963), the youngest man elected to the office. On November 22, 1963, when he was hardly past his first thousand days in office, JFK was assassinated in Dallas, Texas, becoming also the youngest President to die.
He wished America to resume its old mission as the first nation dedicated to the revolution of human rights. With the Alliance for Progress and the Peace Corps, he brought American idealism to the aid of developing nations. But the hard reality of the Communist challenge remained.

نورجہاں پڑھی لکھی خاتون تھیں اور فارسی، عربی، فن، ادب، موسیقی وغیرہ سیکھی ہوئی تھی ۔ 17 سال کی عمر میں اس کی شادی مغل فوج کے ایک سپاہی شیر افگن خان سے ہوئی۔ لیکن شوہر کی موت کے بعد اس کی زندگی ڈرامائی طور پر بدل گئی۔

اسے مغل دربار میں بیوہ کے طور پر لے جایا گیا جہاں وہ شہنشاہ جہانگیر کی نظر میں آ گئی، جو اس کی خوبصورتی اور ذہانت کے سحر میں مبتلا ہو گیا۔ اس نے 1611 میں اس سے شادی کی اور اسے نور جہاں کا خطاب دیا، جس کا مطلب ہے "دنیا کی روشنی"۔

نورجہاں مغلیہ سلطنت کی تاریخ کی سب سے بااثر اور طاقتور ملکہ بن گئیں۔ وہ واحد مغل مہارانی تھیں جنہوں نے اپنے نام پر سکے چلائے اور شاہی احکامات جاری کیے۔ وہ دربار میں جہانگیر کے پاس بیٹھتی اور اسے ریاستی امور کے بارے میں مشورہ دیتی۔ اس کی اپنی عدالت بھی تھی جہاں وہ جرنیلوں، سیاستدانوں اور حکام سے ملاقاتیں کرتی تھیں۔

وہ فنون اور فن تعمیر کی سرپرست تھیں اور انہوں نے بہت سی مشہور عمارتوں اور باغات کا انتظام کیا تھا۔ وہ ایک بہادر اور ماہر شکاری بھی تھی جس نے اپنی بندوق سے شیروں کا شکار کیا۔ اس نے تجارت کی حوصلہ آفزائی کی اور ٹیکسٹائل، قالین، زیورات اور پرفیوم کی پیداوار پر زور دیا۔

اسے اپنے دور حکومت میں بہت سے چیلنجوں اور دشمنوں کا سامنا کرنا پڑا، خاص طور پر اس کے سوتیلے بیٹے شہزادہ خرم کی طرف سے، جو بعد میں شہنشاہ شاہ جہاں بن گیا۔ 1627 میں جہانگیر کی موت کے بعد نور جہاں کی طاقت میں کمی آئی۔ وہ سیاست سے ریٹائر ہوئیں اور اپنی بیٹی کے ساتھ لاہور میں رہتی تھیں۔ اس کا انتقال 1645 میں 68 سال کی عمر میں ہوا اور اسے ایک مقبرے میں دفن کیا گیا جو اس نے اپنے لیے بنایا تھا۔
