ORIC MUET, in partnership with Dawood Global Foundation, has successfully concluded the "Women in Renewable Energy – Hands-on Technical Training" held from 02–06 February 2026.

Over 5 empowering days, 40 talented female engineering students gained:
🔹 Practical skills in solar & renewable energy systems
🔹 Expert-led sessions from trainers of LADIESFUND Energy (Pvt.) Ltd and Pakistan Engineering Council
🔹 Hands-on experience to lead in Pakistan’s renewable energy sector

The Department of Electrical Engineering, MUET, Jamshoro, bid a heartfelt farewell to the graduating students of the 21EL batch. The department came alive with vibrant cultural rallies, traditional performances, and emotional goodbyes as students celebrated their memorable journey.

The students expressed their gratitude by presenting Ajraks to Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Tauha Hussain Ali; Deans Prof. Dr. Ashfaque A. Hashmani and Prof. Dr. Abdul Sattar Larik; and Chairman Prof. Dr. Syed Asif Ali Shah. A cake was also cut to mark the occasion.

The students of 23 Electrical – Section 2 had the valuable opportunity to visit Pakistan Cables Limited, Nooriabad on Wednesday, 24th September 2025.

During the visit, students gained first-hand industrial exposure to the manufacturing processes of power cables, conductors, and wiring systems, along with insights into quality testing, safety protocols, and modern production technologies.

Such visits bridge the gap between theoretical learning and practical application, equipping our students with a deeper understanding of power transmission infrastructure, material engineering, and industry standards.

We extend our gratitude to Pakistan Cables Limited for their hospitality and for sharing their technical expertise with our future engineers.

For strengthening the Industry Academia linkage a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Pakistan Cables limited and Mehran University of Engineering & Technology was signed on 15th October 2024 at Vice Chancellor Secretariat.
The MoU was signed by Mr.Arshad Shafiq, Director Operations(Pakistan Cables limited) & Prof Dr Aneel Kumar,Pro Vice Chancellor, MUET.
During MoU signing ceremony, the Worthy Vice Chancellor MUET, Prof Dr Tauha Hussain Ali was present along with Prof Dr Aftab Ahmed Memon (Dean FEECE), Prof Dr Abdul Sattar Larik (Dean FoSTH), Prof Dr Syed Asif Ali Shah (Chairman, Dept: of Electrical Engineering),
Dr Amir Mahmood Soomro
(Associate Professor, Dept: of Electrical Engineering), Prof Dr Tanveer Phulpoto (Director ORIC) & Dr Sikandar Almani (Focal Person, SFAO) from MUET Side and Mr.Aadil Riaz (Director HR, PCL), Ms.Mariam Durrani

Pakistan Cables Limited is offering 5 Scholarship Slots and 4 Paid Internships to the female students of Electrical Engineering.

Distinguished Guests from Harbin International Power House Jamshoro visited the Department of Electrical Engineering on 16-Sep-2025. Mehran University of Engineering & Technology (MUET), Jamshoro has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Harbin International Power House Jamshoro / Harbin Electric International Co. Ltd.
The MoU was formally signed by Prof. Dr. Aneel Kumar (Pro Vice Chancellor MUET) and Mr. Zan Liming (Project Manager, Harbin International) in the presence of Prof. Dr. Syed Asif Ali Shah (Chairman), Prof. Dr. Abdul Sattar Larik (Dean) along with senior officials, faculty, and students.
This collaboration aims to enhance student internships, faculty training, joint curriculum development, research projects, and scholarships – building stronger industry–academia linkages and contributing to Pakistan’s future in power and energy innovation.
