Celebrating OSFP Day at Riphah International University: Advancing Open-Source Knowledge and Innovation

On November 6, 2024, Riphah International University’s Faculty of Computing proudly hosted OSFP Day at our Gulberg Green Campus, an event dedicated to empowering students through open-source technology. With 130 students and 6 faculty members in attendance, the event explored how open-source drives innovation and professional growth.

The event featured impactful sessions led by industry experts, including Dr. Khalid Latif on leveraging open-source in AI, Sir Hamza Ahmed on transitioning “From Learning to Earning” in open-source, and OSFP Chairperson Mr. Salim Rafiq on global open-source trends and India's rising role in this domain. Each session provided invaluable insights, culminating in closing remarks from Dr. Muhammad Zubair, Dean of the Faculty of Computing.

The successful event reinforced our commitment to preparing students for future challenges by immersing them in the collaborative and transformative open-source world. We are dedicated to equipping our students with the tools and knowledge they need to thrive in the rapidly evolving tech landscape.

We recently had the pleasure of hosting an insightful seminar on "Mastering LinkedIn for Career Success" at our Gulberg Green Campus, led by Mr. Shehroz Ahmed Khan, lecturer at Riphah International University.

During the session, Mr. Shehroz shared invaluable tips on optimizing LinkedIn profiles, from crafting the perfect headline to using the right keywords for effective job searching. He also provided a live demonstration, guiding students on how to connect with the right companies and professionals.
