We are delighted to announce that Ms. Farheen Ali Khan has successfully completed her MS in Physics under the supervision of Dr. Noraiz Tahir at the School of Natural Sciences, NUST.

Her thesis, titled “Constraining the Physical Parameters of Leiden/Dwingeloo Survey-Detected Compact High-Velocity Clouds by Planck Data”, focuses on investigating isolated compact high-velocity clouds (CHVCs) through multi-frequency analysis using Planck CMB data.

In her research, Ms. Farheen estimated the distances of LDS-detected CHVCs and analyzed their radiative properties—such as surface temperature, optical depth, and radiative flux—across several Planck frequency bands (30–857 GHz). Her findings contribute to a deeper understanding of the physical nature and radiative signatures of compact high-velocity clouds in the Galactic halo.

Congratulations once again to Ms. Farheen Ali Khan for her hard work and dedication, and best wishes for her future endeavors in astrophysics and cosmology!
