PIDE School of Public Policy (PSPP) offers an M.Phil./MS in Public Policy to further develop student Offer M.Phil./MS in Public Policy

The PIDE School of Public Policy will undertake the following activities.
1. Conduct research on public policy issues
3. Offer focused executive training to practitioners involved in policy formulation, implementation and monitoring. The M.Phil/MS Public Policy Program
The M.Phil/MS in Public Policy (MSPP) is a rigorous two-year program. Admission into the program is open to persons with 16 year

s of education in any discipline. The program targets those intending to join the ranks of policymakers, managers, administrators, politicians and development practitioners. A comprehensive coursework, practical exercises and field work equips the students with the toolkit necessary to not only understand policy problems but solve them as well. At PSPP of Public Policy we impart theoretical and practical knowledge which enables you to undertake the decision of the following kind. Should we sign MFN with India? Should we subsidize natural gas? How exports may be encouraged? How to improve agricultural yield? Should we manage exchange rate? Should we subsidize wheat prices? Is devolution good for the country? Should we focus more on solar energy? What energy mix is optimal for Pakistan? Should the civil servants be technocrats? How higher education should be financed? Should we focus more large or small dams? Why holding Population census is important? How to improve efficiency of public servants? What tools should be used to control inflation? Health facilities should be in public or private sector? Should we privatize Public Sector enterprises or not? Should the in-kind perks, of public servants be monetized? Should the kids in junior classes be assigned ‘Home Work’
Should we protect the auto industry from foreign competition? Should electricity distribution and generation be with the provinces? Poverty alleviation strategies should be based on cash or in kind transfers? Does the framework of Grade 1-22 allows to attract the best in public sector
Should different kind of professionals work under single salary framework in public sector? What should be our priority? Primary, secondary or higher education? Vocational or general education?
