The International Conference on the Application of Space and Technology (ICAST) 2025 successfully brought together leading scientists, engineers, policymakers, industry experts, and students to discuss the latest advancements and future directions in space science and technology. Jointly organized by the Institute of Space Technology (IST) and the Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) , the conference served as a premier national platform with strong international participation.

Over the course of three days, ICAST 2025 featured keynote addresses by distinguished experts, technical paper presentations, panel discussions, thematic sessions, poster exhibitions, and interactive dialogues. A central theme of the conference was the reinforcement of indigenous capabilities and the leveraging of space technology for tangible socio-economic development. The discussions underscored the critical importance of strengthening partnerships between academia, government, and industry to position Pakistan more prominently within the global space ecosystem.

It is our great honor to announce that the recipient of this year's award is 𝐃𝐫. 𝐌𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐡𝐚 𝐑𝐚𝐬𝐡𝐞𝐞𝐝.

Dr. Madiha is a leading researcher specializing in spaceflight-induced neurodegeneration and the biomedical impacts of extreme environments. Her exemplary record includes over a dozen Q1-ranked publications, competitive grants, and her pivotal role as a Principal Investigator in a pioneering Pakistan–China space-biology mission. Her work is a testament to Pakistan's growing influence and contribution to the global space-life sciences community.
