Interesting how wars are usually named after the country being attacked: Vietnam War, Iraq War, Afghanistan War, Iran War…

Which is probably just good administrative housekeeping.

Because if they named wars after the attacker, modern history would become very hard to follow:

The US War

The US War: Mountain Terrain Expansion Pack
The US War: Now With Drones
The US War: Limited Engagement, Unlimited Budget
The US War: They Promise This One Is About Freedom
The US War: Director’s Cut, Classified Documents Pending

At some point, historians would stop writing books and just release software updates.

Birth, family, and early life
Narendranath Datta was born into an upper-middle-class family of the Kayastha (scribes) caste in Bengal. His father, Vishwanath Datta, an attorney at the High Court in Calcutta (now Kolkata), was a well-read man of culture and a rationalist. Narendranath’s mother, Bhuvaneshwari Devi, was a homemaker and a deeply religious woman.

Narendranath was one of eight siblings and was affectionately addressed as Naren or Bilé by his loved ones. Biographies of the monk paint a picture of him as a boy: mischievous, bubbling with energy, daring, and possessed of an exceptional memory. After finishing his primary schooling, Narendranath enrolled in the Metropolitan Institute in 1871. He was involved in several extracurricular activities and sports such as wrestling and boxing.
