After speaking at a student development program, I realised I had to improve my public speaking skills…. One of the organisers of the program suggested me to explore SoL's Train the Young Trainer program.

Very happy that I prioritised this program in my schedule.

It does more than encouraging you to think outside the box. It gives you thinking tools to create more boxes through reflection, original thinking, and ideation.

At the end of those 7 days, I had already built a new box full with fresh ideas and beliefs about my life and career.

TTYT is not just for aspiring trainers...

It is also a great career starter for people in academia, marketing, management and sales.

On the first day of TTYT, our group went outside the building. We had to interact with public.

So I asked a person who sells corn, “What is life?”. He smiled... and told me how happy he was with his life... and how he and his wife performed holy pilgrimage with limited resources.

His resilience and ability to live life with celebratory spirit changed my perspective on life.
TTYT can help you in coming out of your shell and seeing the world differently.
My thoughts were always there, but I was never confident to express them out loud. I needed self belief.

After YLC 2018, attending TTYT was my opportunity of self-immersion.
My motivation was not to become a trainer in a few days. I believe it takes years of dedication and practice. But I was determined to find myself in ocean of my own thoughts.

I can confidently say that it was one of the best decisions of my life.

Is Train the Young Trainer worth its investment?

That's the first question I asked myself before attending TTYT.
We spent lacs on an undergraduate program... and dive deep in one academic discipline.

Does it prepare us for the job market? ... and can we thrive in job searching, CV and interview screenings? How do we become an attractive candidate for an organisation? And what about learning to network?... and building an impressive LinkedIn profile.

Industry says grads don't have marketable skills.

I realised this skills gap after attending TTYT.

Glad I listened to my gut... and attended TTYT.

A big thanks to School of Leadership team for making an investment plan for me. They made it super convenient for me to become part of TTYT family.
