The Health Services Academy (HSA), Pakistan, has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with the İbn Sina Institute (ISI), Türkiye, and the World Ageing Organization (WAO), to establish a strategic platform for cooperation in science, research, education, innovation, and healthy ageing.

The MoU focuses particularly on gerontology, geriatrics, healthy ageing, longevity science, public health, preventive medicine, health-professional education, digital health and AI, age-friendly communities, and community-based care.

Key areas of collaboration include:

Joint research and scientific publications
Faculty, researcher, and student exchanges
Joint academic and professional training programmes
Establishment of a Geriatric Education Centre at HSA
Development of an International Centre for Gerontology and Longevity (ICGEL)
Healthy Ageing Campus initiatives
Joint conferences and scientific forums
Pakistan–Türkiye research networks and innovation partnerships.
The first-year action plan identifies HSA and ISI as leads for developing the Geriatric Education Centre and Healthy Ageing Campus concept, alongside joint gerontology/geriatrics curricula and a Pakistan–Türkiye research network.

In essence, the MoU provides HSA with a framework to build long-term Pakistan-Türkiye cooperation in healthy ageing, geriatric education, public health research, innovation and human-capacity development.
