A delegation comprising the Vice Manager of Shanghai Exfalcon Aviation Technology Co. Ltd.; Capt. Abdul Khaliq Rabbani Khar, Managing Director, HKH Pvt. Ltd.; Mr. Lu Guoping, General Manager, Shanghai Pumin Technology Development Co. Ltd.; Ms. Li Pingping, Assistant, Overseas Business Development, Shanghai Pumin Technology Development Co. Ltd.; and representatives of associated organizations visited the Principal Seat of COMSATS University Islamabad on Friday.

The delegation presented its proposal, “Transforming Young Human Resource of Pakistan into Human Capital,” followed by discussions on skills development, technology transfer, capacity building, industry–academia collaboration, and creating stronger employment pathways for Pakistani youth.

I also highlighted some of the challenges universities face in commercializing research and shared details of high-value intellectual property and technologies developed at CUI that require investment, industry partnerships, and market access.

Pakistan’s universities already possess considerable technological and intellectual capital. The next step is to connect this potential with investors, manufacturers, technology companies, venture partners, and industry leaders who can help take promising ideas from laboratories to markets.

I therefore invite Pakistani and international industry partners, investors, entrepreneurs, and technology enterprises to engage with CUI, explore our portfolio of technologies and intellectual property, identify commercially viable opportunities, and partner with us in transforming research into products, enterprises, jobs, and economic value.

Our laboratories should not be the final destination of innovation. They should be the starting point of new industries, new businesses, and new opportunities for Pakistan.

CUI is ready to open its doors, share its capabilities, and work with serious partners who are prepared to invest, commercialize, scale, and take Pakistani innovation to national and international markets.

On Friday, I was pleased to welcome Professor Dr. Zakaria Zakir, Vice Chancellor, University Of Kotli, Azad Jammu and Kashmir along with his core team to COMSATS University Islamabad. The delegation received a comprehensive briefing and hands-on demonstration of the digital solutions recently developed by CUI by Prof. Dr. Sajjad Ahmad Madani. I am hopeful that CUI and UoK will soon embark upon meaningful strategic cooperation to deliver the student experience to the students of Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

I take this opportunity to extend an open invitation to Vice Chancellors and university leadership across Pakistan: come to CUI, experience these systems yourselves, and see how digitization can translate into real savings, greater efficiency, enhanced transparency and a positive transformation of workplace culture. Only smart digitization can reduce costs and simplify processes allowing us to focus more on what truly matters — our students, teaching, research and innovation.

For us at CUI, digital transformation is not simply about replacing paper with screens. It is about creating smarter institutions, healthier finances, empowered employees and, most importantly, a richer and more responsive student experience.

We are happy to share what we have learned and developed with our fellow universities. Together, we can build more efficient, transparent and future-ready institutions.

It was truly encouraging to meet Dr. Aftab Ahmad, President, National Academy of Young Scientists (NAYS), Pakistan and Dr. Kubra Mehmood, Founder & CEO, Planet Bio Labs. Interacting with young scientists who have successfully embraced entrepreneurship as a career is always inspiring and reinforces my belief in the immense potential of Pakistan’s community.

Our discussions focused on , institutional efficiency, governance and preparing universities for the Age of Artificial Intelligence. I shared CUI’s digital transformation journey, including its significant green impact, with digitization efforts contributing to savings equivalent to nearly a thousand trees.

Dr. Aftab took keen interest in the measures being undertaken at CUI to improve operational efficiency and maintain sound financial health at a time when universities across Pakistan are facing considerable financial pressures.

We agreed that the need of the hour is to move decisively towards enhancing investments in science, of research, , and technology-driven . I also appreciated Dr. Aftab’s efforts for science popularization in collaboration with the Pakistan Academy of Sciences and offered CUI’s full facilitation for promoting bio-startups and science-based businesses in Pakistan.

It was a pleasure to welcome Excellency Ms Farah Naz Akbar, Parliamentary Secretary, Ministry of National Heritage and Culture, to Comsats University Islamabad for the inauguration of “Frames of Freedom,” a photography exhibition celebrating Pakistan’s heritage, landscapes, architecture, people and traditions.

Featuring more than 50 exhibits, the exhibition reflects how photography can become a powerful medium of creativity, reflection and cultural dialogue. Universities must continue to provide platforms that nurture artistic expression and help project the rich and positive image of Pakistan.

I congratulate the participating photographers and curator, Ms. Farrah Mahmood Rana, on this thoughtful celebration of Pakistan.

The exhibition will remain open until September 30, 2026, at the COMSATS Art Gallery, CUI Islamabad.
