Learning through creativity π
The activity of making birthday cards in Early Years Level 3 was joyful, creative learning experience that went beyond art.
When learners design a card for a friend, they learn to *express emotions, wishes and love* through colours, drawings and words, which builds *social-emotional development and empathy*.
While cutting, pasting, colouring and writing "Happy Birthday", they develop *fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination and pre-writing skills*. Choosing colours, patterns and messages encourages *creative thinking, imagination and decision-making*.
It also strengthens *language and literacy* as learners learn new vocabulary, write simple sentences, and practice writing their name.
Working alongside peers promotes *sharing, cooperation and respect for others' work*, and presenting the card builds *confidence and a sense of pride*.
Overall, this creative activity nurtures holistic development β artistic, emotional, social and cognitive β in a meaningful and memorable way.
