*First Bi-Monthly Open Day Held at IMCG F-8/1 Islamabad*
Under the supervision of Principal Prof. Aasiya Rafique Malik, Islamabad Model College for Girls F-8/1, Islamabad, successfully organized its First Bi-Monthly Open Day on 4th June 2026.
Parents of students from Classes ECE 1 –VIII and P-2 attended the event and met with teachers to discuss their children's academic performance, attendance, discipline, behaviour, and overall progress.
The Open Day provided a valuable platform for parent-teacher interaction and strengthened cooperation for students' academic and personal development. Parents appreciated the efforts of the college administration and teaching staff in maintaining high educational standards.
The event concluded on a positive note with a shared commitment to supporting students' continued growth and success.

Shehzad Roy joined the “No Child Left Behind” (Koi Bacha Peechay Na Rahey)
Shehzad Roy joined the “No Child Left Behind” (Achay say parhayen) campaign of the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training during a visit to Islamabad Model College for Girls (IMCG), F-8/1. The campaign is a three-year initiative aimed at identifying, enrolling and retaining out-of-school children (OOSC) in the Islamabad Capital Territory through targeted interventions including household surveys, double-shift schooling and Accelerated Learning Programs.
Mr. Roy, a renowned philanthropist and founder of Zindagi Trust, was received by senior officials including Mr. Nadeem Mehboob, Secretary MoFEPT; Mr. Junaid Ikhlaq, Director General, Federal Directorate of Education; Dr. Shahid Ali Sorraya, Director General, Pakistan Institute of Education; Mr. Ali Asghar, Director General, National Commission for Human Development; and Ms. Riffat Jabeen, Director Academics FDE and Principal of the college, along with Prof. Aasiya Rafique Malik.
Representatives from the PTCL Group also attended the visit, including Mr. Asif Ahmad, Chief Business Solutions Officer; Mr. Basharat Qureshi, Vice President Enterprise Accounts; Mr. Syed Adil Ali, General Manager North Enterprise Accounts; and Ms. Tehmina Sayyed, Country Lead Education.
During the visit, Mr. Roy observed a career counselling session organized by MoFEPT in collaboration with Eduvision Counselling Services, Pace Technologies and Taaleem Foundation. He also toured the Smart Classroom initiative, implemented with support from E-Taleem and PTCL and visited the Robotics Lab, Math Lab and Mind Games Room.
The Director General of the Pakistan Institute of Education briefed Mr. Roy on the number of out-of-school children identified and enrolled in schools across the Islamabad Capital Territory. Mr. Roy appreciated the progress and emphasized the importance of sustained efforts to ensure access, retention and quality education.
In his remarks, Mr. Roy commended the Ministry’s efforts in bringing out-of-school children into mainstream education and praised the “No Child Left Behind” campaign as a significant and impactful initiative promoting inclusive and equitable learning opportunities for all.
