# # Independence Day Quiz Competition

As part of the ongoing Independence Day celebrations, a quiz competition highlighting the struggle for freedom and the Pakistan Movement was held at Islamabad Model College for Boys, I-8/3. The competition was organized and hosted by the Pakistan Studies Department, with enthusiastic participation from all four houses of the college.

Each house was represented by a team of two students, who demonstrated impressive knowledge, confidence, and competitive spirit throughout the challenging contest. After a closely fought competition, Sir Syed House emerged victorious and secured the first position, while Iqbal House secured the second position.

Certificates of participation were distributed among all participating students, while winner and runner-up trophies were also awarded to the respective teams.

The competition provided students with an engaging opportunity to deepen their understanding of the historic struggle for independence while celebrating the spirit of patriotism and national pride.

CMC Meeting

A meeting of the College Management Committee (CMC) was held at the college with the primary objective of strengthening coordination and collaboration and addressing key institutional matters through mutual consultation. The meeting provided an opportunity to review the college’s academic performance, infrastructure development, and ongoing initiatives aimed at improving the overall learning environment.

The management briefed the committee on the college’s academic achievements and various IT-enabled interventions, including the Online Result Portal, SMS Alert System, digital attendance, Google Classroom, and IT laboratories. The establishment of new laboratories, language courses, gym facilities, and other student-oriented facilities was also highlighted. The newly constructed block and its role in enhancing the college’s infrastructure were discussed in detail.

The meeting also highlighted the college’s CCTV-based monitoring system, through which the entire campus, including classrooms, is actively monitored to ensure discipline, safety, and timely reporting of incidents. The college’s participation in international educational initiatives, including the recent visit of a student to Russia, was also appreciated.

Other important initiatives discussed included the provision of a new college bus and a new route expected to facilitate approximately 160 students, as well as efforts to support deserving and needy students through philanthropic and community initiatives. The establishment of academic and institutional standards to ensure continuous improvement was also emphasized. The upcoming elections scheduled for September were also discussed.

The President of the CMC appreciated the efforts of the college management and expressed his admiration for the progress made in strengthening the institution’s academic, administrative, infrastructural, and technological foundations. The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to continued collaboration and collective efforts for the further development of the college.

Jashn-e-Azadi Padel Tennis Tournament

As part of the Jashn-e-Azadi celebrations, Islamabad Model College for Boys, I-8/3 organized a thrilling Padel Tennis Tournament featuring teams from among the college faculty.

The final, played today between Stars (Mr. Ikram & Mr. Kamran) and Thunders (Mr. Faisal & Mr. Usman), turned into an exciting and highly competitive contest. With pleasant weather adding to the spirit of the occasion, both teams displayed excellent skill, teamwork, and sportsmanship.

After a series of competitive games, Stars emerged victorious with a 5–3 win, securing the championship title.

On the occasion, Principal Prof. Shahid M. Abbasi appreciated the players for demonstrating a positive sporting spirit and emphasized the importance of physical fitness, healthy activities, and teamwork in maintaining a balanced and active lifestyle.

The tournament added another vibrant dimension to the college’s Jashn-e-Azadi celebrations, bringing the faculty together through healthy competition and camaraderie.

Islamabad Model College for Boys, I-8/3, celebrated Pakistan’s Independence Day with great enthusiasm, vibrant colors, and a strong spirit of patriotism.

The event featured outstanding performances by students of the Junior Section, who captivated the audience with their confidence, talent, and patriotic spirit. The Urdu and English speeches delivered by students from both the Junior and Senior Sections were equally admirable and reflected their love for Pakistan and their hopes for its bright future.

The celebrations reached a proud and memorable moment when Principal Prof. Shahid M. Abbasi hoisted the national flag, marking the occasion with a renewed pledge to uphold the values of unity, faith, and discipline.

A day filled with patriotism, talent, pride, and celebration—a beautiful tribute to our beloved Pakistan.

The Quran Khwani was conducted under the supervision of Prof. Amir Muhammad and Ms. Andleeb Zehra. The activity provided students with an opportunity to express their love for Pakistan through prayers and reflection.
