What happened: On Aug 14, the Dice Foundation, colleges, and the commercial sector came together to introduce Pakistan’s first locally built electric car. On the nation's 75th Independence Day, the launch event took place at a local hotel. In the latter half of 2024, the public will be able to make reservations for the NUR-E 75 vehicle.

Details: The NED University of Engineering and Technology developed its battery pack, which has cutting-edge features. The automobile will probably be exported as well. The Sir Syed University of Engineering is creating the chargers for these cars. To shorten charging times, work is also being done on the development of speedier chargers. The National College of Arts produced the design, and all the car's components were created in Pakistan.

About the car: After charging for eight hours using a 220V connection, the vehicle can go 210 kilometres at a speed of 120 km/h.

Why it matters: The "Made in Pakistan" automobile, according to Dice Foundation Chairman Dr. Khurshid Qureshi, is a significant development for the stability of the nation's economy. According to him, Pakistan has also made the first move, in the global car industry, towards the electric vehicle revolution.
