Sheikh Abdul Basit Abdus Samad (عبد الباسط عبد الصمد) was one of the greatest Qur'an reciters in Islamic history. He was born in 1927 in the village of Armant, Luxor, Egypt. From a young age, he memorized the Holy Qur'an and became known for his extraordinary voice, remarkable breath control, and emotional style of recitation. His melodious tilawah has inspired millions of Muslims around the world and continues to be listened to decades after his passing.
His public recitation career began in Egypt, where his talent quickly gained national recognition. He later became one of the most famous reciters on Egyptian Radio and was invited to recite the Qur'an in many countries, including Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Indonesia, Malaysia, South Africa, and several European nations. His recitations helped spread the beauty of the Qur'an across the world.
Sheikh Abdul Basit was especially admired for his mastery of both Murattal (slow, clear recitation) and Mujawwad (melodic, artistic recitation). His powerful yet soothing voice made him one of the most beloved Qur'an reciters of all time. Many well-known reciters were influenced by his style, and his recordings remain among the most widely heard today.

Sheikh Abdul Basit passed away on 30 November 1988 after an illness in Cairo, Egypt. Although he is no longer with us, his voice continues to touch hearts around the world. May Allah (SWT) have mercy on Sheikh Abdul Basit Abdus Samad, forgive him, and grant him the highest place in Jannat al-Firdaws. Ameen.

Yasser Al-Dosari, born on August 6, 1980, in Al-Kharj, Saudi Arabia, is a renowned Islamic scholar, Qur'an reciter (Qari), and Imam.
He began his journey in Islamic studies at a young age, memorizing the Qur'an by the age of 15.
Al-Dosari earned his bachelor's degree in Sharia from Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University, followed by a master's degree in Comparative Jurisprudence and a doctorate in the Department of Comparative Fiqh from the Institute of the Judiciary.
In 2015, King Salman bin Abdulaziz appointed Al-Dosari as a guest Imam for Taraweeh and Tahajjud prayers at Masjid al-Haram in Mecca during Ramadan.
His role was renewed annually until 2019, when he was appointed as a permanent Imam of Masjid al-Haram. He also served as a Khatib (preacher) at the mosque.
After completing his initial four-year term in 2023, Al-Dosari was reappointed as an Imam in March 2024.
Beyond his duties at Masjid al-Haram, Al-Dosari has held various positions, including serving as an Imam at the Dakhil Mosque in Riyadh and as the General Secretary of the Prince Sultan Association for the Memorization of the Qur'an.
He is also a member of the King Saud University and the Global Europe Symposium of Muslim Youth.
