PDNET 2022 Small Grant - Hyderabad

The LCO Program is being conducted under the OPEN Program for Pakistan and has been sponsored by the Regional English Language Office at the U.S. Embassy Islamabad RELO Pakistan Pakistan, and Implemented by Evolution, in Pakistan. Through this program, we intend to carry out some professional development sessions and arrange a MOOC camp in Hyderabad during the months of May and June, 2023.

PDNET Small Grants-2022, Hyderabad Chapter.

A 2-day intensive training was organised by PDNET alumni Ms. Tehmina Kalwar and Ms. Wafa Imtiaz, at Lincoln Corners Pakistan (Hyderabad branch), as a plan to cascade the learning that had taken place during their 5 days training at the PDNET phase-1 in July.

The training was sponsored Vision-Building Future (VBF) and RELO Pakistan , U.S. Embassy Pakistan. 30 Novice teachers took the training and were given sessions on differentiated instruction, teaching pronunciation, teaching creative writing, continuing professional development and integration of ICT tools in ESL Classrooms.
Dr. Rafique Ahmed Memon, Pro- VC, Sindh University Thatta Campus, joined the training as a guest speaker in the opening ceremony and Dr. Shumaila Memon, Director, CELL, Mehran UET, joined the training as the guest speaker in the closing ceremony. The guest speakers interacted with the participants and motivated them for their future endeavours.

Team VBF also joined the participants virtually during the closing ceremony and congratulated them on successful completion of the training.

Dr Shumaila Aijaz Memon, Director, CELL, MUET, Jamshoro is all excited to join us on 21st October (Training Day 2) to connect with the ELTs of Hyderabad.

Dr. Shumaila Memon is currently working as Director of English Language Development Centre, Mehran UET in Pakistan. She also served as Chairperson of the Provincial External Review Committee, Directorate of Curriculum, Assessment and Research, Sindh. She received her Doctorate in Applied Linguistics from England. Later, she pursued her specialization in Higher Education Administration as Fulbright Hubert Humphrey Fellow at Penn State. During her Fulbright year in USA, she worked at the production department of Penn State University Press.

PDNET 2022, Small Grant!

We are pleased to have Dr. Rafique Ahmed Memon as our first Guest Speaker for PDNET, 2022. Dr Rafique will be with us on 20th October (Training Day 1).

Dr. Rafique Ahmed Memon, the Pro Vice Chancellor of Sindh University, Thatta Campus and also the Head of TESOL, Sindh Chapter, is all thrilled to join our ELTs of Hyderabad.

We are extremely thankful to RELO Pakistan, U.S. Embassy Pakistan for bringing Professional Development for Novice Teachers (PDNET) Program for the ELTs of Pakistan.
