Isra University Hospital Hosts Scientific Session on Diabetes, Lifestyle Medicine & Metabolic Wellness
The Department of Medicine, Isra University Hospital, Hyderabad, organized a scientific session focusing on contemporary approaches to Diabetes Mellitus, Lifestyle Medicine, Metabolic Wellness, and Tirzepatide Therapy.
The scientific programme featured three insightful presentations delivered by distinguished faculty members.
Prof. Dr. Adnan Bawany, Professor of Medicine and Chairperson, Department of Medicine & Allied, Isra University Hyderabad, delivered a presentation titled โLifestyle Medicine in Diabetes Mellitus โ Prevention, Lifestyle Modification and Remission.โ His presentation highlighted the importance of lifestyle interventions, preventive strategies, and sustainable behavioural modifications in improving diabetes outcomes and achieving remission where appropriate.
Dr. Ghulam Fareed Memon presented โTwincretin โ A Paradigm Shift in Metabolic Wellness,โ discussing the evolving role of twincretin therapy and its potential impact on the management of metabolic disorders.
Dr. Saima Jatoi delivered a presentation titled โRole of Tirzepatide in Obstructive Sleep Apnoea,โ highlighting emerging evidence and the potential role of tirzepatide in patients with obesity-related metabolic and sleep disorders.
During the concluding segment, Prof. Hameedullah Kazi, Chancellor, Isra University Hospital, addressed the gathering and shared his valuable reflections on the scientific programme. He appreciated the Department of Medicine for organizing an academically meaningful and relevant session and emphasized the importance of continuing medical education, professional development, and staying abreast of emerging advances in modern medicine. He also appreciated the efforts of the organizers in promoting academic excellence and continuous learning, bringing the session to a meaningful conclusion.
The programme was graced by Prof. Hameedullah Kazi, Chancellor, Isra University Hospital, as Guest of Honour, along with Prof. Dr. Sajjad Kazi, Director, Isra University Hospital; Prof. Dr. Salman Ahmed Farsi Kazi, Head of the Department of Forensic Medicine; and Prof. Dr. Navaid Kazi, Head of the Department of Physiology.
The scientific session was further enriched by the presence of an esteemed panel of experts, comprising Dr. M. Sadiq Memon, Dr. Muhammad Khalid Sheikh, and Prof. Dr. Akbar Memon.
As a gesture of appreciation, souvenirs were presented to the speakers, panel of experts, distinguished guests, Guest of Honour, and moderators in recognition of their valuable contributions to the scientific session.
The programme was moderated by Dr. Maham Khan and Dr. Komal Anwar, who facilitated the scientific proceedings and interactive discussions.
