Mr. Jahangir Shah has completed 27 years of dedicated service (1999-2026) at AKHSS,G.
Beginning in the early days when the school operated, Mr. Jahangir's commitment was evident as he personally escorted approximately 40 students daily to and from Shah Karim Hostel. His role quickly expanded beyond that of a Physical Education Instructor; he became a trusted teacher, mentor, guardian, and role model, offering care, guidance, and encouragement to generations of students.
Throughout his tenure, he played a pivotal role in fostering discipline, confidence, resilience, teamwork, and a strong sense of responsibility in countless young individuals. The enduring impact of his service is clearly demonstrated by the many former students, now contributing across Pakistan and globally, who consistently make an effort to visit him upon their return to Gilgit.
As Mr. Jahangir continues the next chapter of his professional journey at Diamond Jubilee High School Ayeshi, Ghizer, the AKHSS Gilgit community extends its heartfelt farewell, accompanied by profound appreciation and gratitude for his contributions.
A teacher's legacy is truly defined by the lives they touch and the values they instill.

A student from 𝗔𝗴𝗮 𝗞𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹, 𝗠𝘂𝗿𝘁𝗮𝘇𝗮𝗮𝗯𝗮𝗱, presented her project on 𝗚𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗟𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗢𝘂𝘁𝗯𝘂𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗙𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗱𝘀 (𝗚𝗟𝗢𝗙𝘀). She explained how glaciers form lakes as a result of 𝗰𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘀, and how these lakes can suddenly burst, causing devastating destruction to roads, homes, infrastructure, and even claiming human lives.

Her project plays an important role in 𝗿𝗮𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗿𝗼𝗼𝘁𝘀 𝗹𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹 about the dangers of GLOFs. It was showcased at the 𝘀𝗼𝘄𝗘𝗛 𝗦𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 & 𝗔𝗿𝘁 𝗘𝘅𝗵𝗶𝗯𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗮𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗙𝗮𝗶𝗿 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱, 𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘇𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝘆 𝘀𝗼𝘄𝗘𝗛 (𝗦𝗼𝘄 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 & 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵).

Hello Everyone,

My name is Zeeshan Mujeeb. I am a Senior majoring in Economics at Lahore University of Management Sciences.

State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) in collaboration with the National Institute of Banking and Finance (NIBAF) has launched National Financial Literacy Program for Youth(NFLP-Y).

Aim: The basic aim of the program is to impart essential financial education to Pakistani youth and school going children for a strengthening of their money management skills and understanding of financial matters.

About the Game: State bank of Pakistan launched ‘PomPak — Learn to Earn’, Pakistan’s first e-learning financial literacy game to impart free of cost financial education to Pakistani children, adolescents, and youth.

Currently, I am working as a Student Brand Ambassador under an internship program of NFLP-Y. My goal is to train youth through this financial literacy game.

At the end of the game: You can master the essentials of saving, budgeting, borrowing, and banking, among many other topics of Finance and Economics. You will get a prestigious certificate of financial literacy, jointly issued by the National Institute of Banking and Finance (NIBAF), a subsidiary of the SBP; and the National Financial Literacy Program for Youth (NFLP-Y), a project of the State Bank of Pakistan.

Note: ANYONE can play this game. So, if you don't have prior knowledge about Economics and Finance then DON'T WORRY, it is an easy and fun game. You will also get a flavor of Economics and Finance.

The caretaker Chief Minister DIG (Retd) Mir Afzal Khan accompanied by his cabinet visited Aga Khan Higher Secondary School Gilgit. He was received by Principal Zafar Iqbal and briefed about the historical background and educational activities of the school. The Chief Minister and his Cabinet visited the classrooms and asked the students questions about teaching and learning. Addressing the students, the Chief Minister said that you are one of the lucky few students who have got the opportunity to study in an institution like Aga Khan Higher Secondary School. The students complained to the Chief Minister about the lack of scholarships and incentives at the government level.
The Chief Minister announced a grant of Rs. 200,000 for the school.
Among the ministers, Education Minister Abdul Jahan, Finance Minister, Health Minister Samina Baig and others spoke to the students.

Organization for Educational Change (OEC) is pleased to be open for submissions for its 5th issue of annual educational magazine. We are especially interested in supporting diverse and emerging voices from Gilgit Baltistan and Chitral. Although this year's edition will focus on mental health but all genres and subjects are welcomed.
