The Department of Chemistry, Government College Women University, Faisalabad (GCWUF) proudly congratulates Ms. Tanzeela Aslam on the successful defence of her Ph.D. thesis titled "Synthesis, Characterization and Applications of Micro and Macro Nutrients Fortified Fertilizers on Selected Crops to Improve Yield," carried out under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Zill-i-Huma Nazli on 30th July 2026. Her supervisory committee also included Dr Farhat Jubeen and Dr Faiza Nazir Department of Chemistry, GCWUF. Her research focused on developing nutrient-fortified fertilizers to enhance crop yield, making a valuable contribution to sustainable agriculture and food security. The thesis defence was evaluated by an esteemed examination committee comprising Prof. (R) Dr. Haq Nawaz Bhatti from the University of Agriculture, Faisalabad, and Dr. Misbah Sultan from the University of the Punjab as external examiners, along with Dr. Nusrat Shafiq from GCWUF as internal examiner. The event was attended by the Director ORIC, Director QEC, and Controller of Examinations, along with faculty members and students, who witnessed a confident and successful presentation of her doctoral research. Congratulations to Dr. Tanzeela Aslam on this remarkable achievement, and heartfelt appreciation to her supervisor, Prof. Dr. Zill-i-Huma Nazli, for her guidance throughout this journey.

*Department of Nutritional Sciences Represents GCWUF at FCCI Expo Faisalabad 2026*

The Department of Nutritional Sciences in Collaboration with Business Incubation Centre (BIC), Government College Women University Faisalabad (GCWUF), actively participated in Expo Faisalabad 2026, organized by the Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FCCI) from 24–26 July 2026 at Expo Centre Lahore.

The department participated in the event under the visionary leadership of Prof. Dr. Kanwal Ameen (T.I.), Vice Chancellor, GCWUF, and the kind supervision of Dr. Madiha Ilyas, Head of Department of Nutritional Sciences. Students showcased innovative nutrition-based products and research projects, including Mango Kernel Flour, VitaRise, RindCraft Pickle, and RePeel ImmuniTea, highlighting sustainable food innovation, value addition, and functional nutrition while demonstrating their creativity, scientific knowledge, and entrepreneurial potential.

The exhibition attracted visitors from academia, industry, and the business community, who appreciated the originality, quality, and commercial potential of the products. The event provided students with a valuable opportunity to interact with entrepreneurs, researchers, and industry experts, enabling them to gain practical insights into product development, commercialization, and market trends.

Prof. Dr. Kanwal Ameen (T.I.) appreciated the remarkable efforts of the Department of Nutritional Sciences and commended the students and faculty for representing GCWUF with excellence. She praised the innovative products exhibited by the students and emphasized that participation in such national exhibitions strengthens research culture, promotes industry–academia collaboration, and nurtures entrepreneurship and innovation among young professionals.

The successful participation reflects the Department of Nutritional Sciences' continued commitment to fostering research, innovation, sustainable food solutions, and community-oriented initiatives while providing students with opportunities to showcase their talents on prestigious national platforms.
