Smart ( Reduced )Syllabus 2025-26

PART – I

Question No. 1 (Objective Type Questions)

This part will contain 12 multiple-choice questions (MCQs).

From Chapters 3, 4, and 6: 2 MCQs from each chapter

From Chapters 1, 2, 5, 7, 8, and 9: 1 MCQ from each chapter

Note:
The objective section will be based on the remaining syllabus of Class 9 Physics (excluding the topics that were cut).
MCQs will be taken from the end-of-chapter exercises and from within the chapters.

PART – II

According to the Pairing Scheme, PCTB has directed all Punjab Boards that all short and comprehensive questions (SAQs and CRQs) must be taken only from the exercises.

Question No. 2 (Short Questions)

There will be 8 questions, out of which any 5 are to be attempted.

Chapter 1 and 3: 3 questions from each chapter

Chapter 2: 2 questions from this chapter

Note:
If students prepare Chapters 1 and 3 thoroughly, they will be able to attempt all 5 required questions, with 1 extra question as a choice.

Question No. 3 (Short Questions)

There will be 8 questions, out of which any 5 are to be attempted.

Chapter 4 and 5: 3 questions from each chapter

Chapter 6: 2 questions from this chapter

Note:
If students prepare Chapters 4 and 5, they will easily be able to attempt 5 questions, with 1 in choice.

Question No. 4 (Short Questions)

There will be 8 questions, out of which any 5 are to be attempted.

Chapter 7 and 8: 3 questions from each chapter

Chapter 9: 2 questions from this chapter

Note:
If students prepare Chapters 7 and 8, they will easily be able to attempt 5 questions, with 1 in choice.

PART – III (Long Questions)

There will be 3 long questions, out of which any 2 must be attempted.
Each question carries 9 marks, divided into two parts:

(a) 4 marks

(b) 5 marks

Most Important Point:
All theory-based long questions will be taken only from the textbook exercises, while numerical questions will be taken from the exercises as well as the examples within the chapters.
However, theory questions will exclusively come from the exercises.

Important Note:

In Physics, it is not predetermined which chapter will appear in part (a) or part (b) of a long question.
Therefore, teachers should guide students to prepare all the chapters mentioned in the pairing scheme thoroughly to ensure complete preparation.
