Types of cells
Cell is a building block of living organisms. Cell is a basic unit of life. Living organisms consist of trillion of cells. Cells carry all life activities.
1. Animal cells and Human cells
1. Animal and human cells are spherical in shape.
2. Nucleus is present in center of cell.
3. Animal and plant cells are single walled. Outer most layer is the cell membrane.
4. Cell consist of jelly like material called cytoplasm. Organelles are present in cytoplasm. They have their specific functions in cells.
5. Nucleus contain genetic material. DNA and Chromosomes.
6. Single nucleus is present in animal and human cells.
7. Many small vacuoles are present in cells.
2. Plant cells
1. Plant cell is elongated.
2. Nucleus is pushed towards the membrane.
3. Plants cells are double membrane bounded.
4. Outer layer is cell wall and inner wall is called cell membrane.
5. Genetic material such as DNA and chromosomes are present in nucleus.
6. Single large vacuole is present in center of cells.
7. Nucleus is not present in center. It is pushed towards cell membrane due to the presence of large vacuole.
